Angry Interior Front Windshield

I own a 2021 911 Carrera S (7-speed manual/rear wheel drive) and had to replace the inspection sticker from the lower left side of the interior front windshield. I used a razor blade, as I’ve done with every other car I’ve owned, to remove the old sticker before replacing it with the current one.

I didn’t realize the interior side of the front windshield has a film on it. Unfortunately, I tore some of the film off while using the razor blade to remove the old inspection sticker.

I bought the car used with about 2k miles on it. The original owner lived in HI.

Does Porsche apply a clear film to the interior of the front windshields on 992’s?

Or, did the former owner have the film installed?

Living in Hawaii; probably had the front windshield tinted. I doubt you dug in so hard that you cut through the laminate of the windshield itself.

I agree with you. I definitely know I didn’t dig into the glass, because I was peeling the film off the window from where the blade dug into it.

I’m going to take it to my tint guy and have them remove it. I’m interested in knowing if they have something to replace it with.

It was clear film installed by the prior owner to minimize heat inside of the cabin. It's not uncommon, but any tinted film is illegal [in California and many other states], so the prior owner went with the clear film which still keeps the UV rays out.
