Miami Blue may not be approved currently, but you may be surprised at what can happen depending on your relationship with your dealer and Porsche. When I inquired about possibly painting my TTS Cherry Red like the Targa Heritage, Porsche offered to waive the feasibility charge (although it still had to go through the feasibility study). Perhaps you could arrange for the same since it is an existing Porsche color. You would still need to wait until the PTS window opened again, though.

Don't paint the car, it will never be as good as factory, particularly if the car is not completely stripped and that's huge work. Be patient and wait, or buy a used one with a colour you like and/or do the wrap.
My GT silver TTS is being built in about 3 weeks. I wanted Arena Red, but I couldn't get PTS and Arena Red is not yet approved.

Has anyone had a modern/new high-end car like a 992 completely repainted by an independent shop? How does it affect resale value down the line? I desperately want a 992 Turbo S Cabriolet in Miami Blue but Porsche has still not added it as a color to the PTS list and it seems there’s no way to know when they might. On top of that, PTS is now $13k and the shop I found quoted me $15-20k depending on the car. It’s also currently impossible to get any 992 Turbo S allocation and my SA just told me he was informed PTS is now suspended through the rest of 2022 (at least).
I’m wondering how suspicious a future buyer would be of a 911 painted in a color that’s theoretically not possible to get from Porsche? The shop was recommended to me by my local Aston Martin dealer, as apparently they send brand new cars to them when they arrive from the factory with any type of paint imperfections. Given that I was not overly impressed with the quality of the PTS paint job on my last 911 (seems you’re really just paying for the color itself) this almost seems like a better route to go at present time.

Given the nature of todays market I feel compelled to ask if the original post is trolling . There chances of getting. slot are nearly zero and going totally outside the box might even have the dealership telling you "no way". They wil want to take the car back to CPO it one day and you are walking in with a deal breaker ,

if money is not an issue, why care about what the future buyer thinks !
also buying a used TTS seem to be running 50 K above MSRP , so what is extra 20 k in repainting , and extra 30 k in resale loss

I think its trolling . Cars are asking 100K over used . Plus the repaint , plus the depreciation ."Future owner" is one flag . Another is the idea of doing this to simply have a Miami Blue Turbo S . Suppse its a celebrity or someone just focused on image I might buy that . However its not the typical forum poster . Most car firm guys aren't drawn to the car just to have an odd trophy .

Buy the used car now in whatever color you can get, then get on several lists for a new allocation with PTS.

I don’t see why Porsche wouldn’t do a PTS in Miami Blue. It won’t be the cheaper $12K version but I’d think it would be sub $25k. In the money is no object world I’d go look for a PTS turbo s allocation and just make it happen. Otherwise I’d do as suggested above and buy a used Turbo S and get on a Miami Blue PTS list. Or just repaint the car and just keep it forever.

Forgetaboutit. Worst idea ever, to buy a car and have it painted Miami Blue. I wanted a car in a certain color too but couldn't get it so I COMPROMISED and bought it in a Porsche color that came from the factory.
In my opinion, it would be the dumbest thing ever, to buy a new (newish) car and have it repainted Miami Blue.
It's kind of like when a child wants a lollypop in Miami Blue but their daddy tells them they only have dark blue lollypops instead. The kid cries, then gets over it and is happy to have the dark blue lollypop in the end, since it tastes so good after all.
Don't do this crazy thing... pick another color.

I suspect you have not followed this through with your dealer, which leads me to believe this post leans more towards troll. Because if you had followed this through with your dealer, they they will tell you that Porsche Individual will custom make you a car right down to Pepita seat inserts and carbon fiber wheels. They go way beyond Paint To Sample and you work directly with a factory representative, not the dealer.. Sound expensive? It is.
