I'm beginning to worry that the alcantara/race tex may look a bit cheap compared to luxurious leather.
Personally I don't think Race-Tex looks cheaper. We all know the material is inherently less expensive to leather but outside of the added benefits of performance, Race-Tex gives some added subtle textures in the cabin. I like to think it's bit similar to spot glossing on a print or subtle fabric weave (birds eye, herringbone, twill, etc) on a suit.
The “GTS is only if you want a track-focused 911” is the dumbest take that would only be put forward by an owner of an S trying to justify their purchase. I’m an owner of an S and accept that the GTS is a better car by all metrics, let’s stop this nonsense.

I don’t own an S. GTS is better at the track than the S. Can’t deny that. S is more comfortable on regular roads than the GTS. Can’t deny that either. Specs alone would easily confirm this. E.g., stiffer suspension, louder inside.
The word “only” in your post makes things very binary though. I’d never say anything like that.
Would greatly appreciate examples of the “quality of material” differences. I’m trying to decide between S and GTS.
These are better in 4 GTS 2023 in the cockpit than 4S - 2021
- Control stalk for direction indicators and high beam
- Control stalk for windscreen wipers
- Higher resolution in PCM screen
- Control button on the steering wheel
Just scrolling through this thread, and in pictures..
This is just an opinion of course, but when it comes to the high-gloss black kit (Both aero and non-aero) it seems like the metallic colors look better with it and the solid look better to me with the standard satin finish and maybe the Sport Design sides in exterior color.
Of course, I haven't seen every iteration of each but just on observation from the pics.
The color combination has been the most difficult for me to decide, and I change it almost daily as I wait lol.
Is that wheel color an option on this model? Just never seen that color before on a GTS.
Never mind, I see it now. Satin Platinum. I wish this was available on the whole line as an option. I really like the way it looks on the darker colors.

Having wheels refinished is surprisingly cheap/easy. That said, I do agree that the way Porsche gatekeeps certain options/colors/etc is rather annoying. They took my top choice (nachtblau metallic) and made it PTS just before I got my slot. I will not pay 12k for paint color, so I switched to jbm.

I actually am considering this with my GTS when I get it. I really like the thought of having the Turbo S wheels in Satin Aurum on Gentian Blue.
