Porsche knows a thing or two about hybrids (919). I honestly can't wait to see what they do with a hybrid 911.

I hope its not a plug-in, so it's not carrying that extra weight. Just a regenerative recapture system only. Also, I wonder if it only makes sense to put the regen brakes on the front wheels only, given the car's already rear weight bias? Most 911 owners don't really need that "40 miles pure EV range for gas free local errands" that the plug-ins promote as a feature, this isn't a Prius. Frankly, all I want is enough EV only range to get from my garage to the nearest main road, before the engine lights up, a few miles of EV only range is enough. In normal operation, the hybrid works just like it does on an F1 car. Put some new indicator lights on the sports chrono wart, which really doesn't show a whole lot anyway during normal driving, indicating whether the system is charging, or discharging to create drivetrain power.

Would this be considered a “hybrid turbo”?

Wasn't there another article where it mentions that Hybrid will be introduced into 718 vs. 911?

Why do people post stuff ( making affirmations ) , without reading the article ?
Asking for a friend.

As well, hybrid and plug in hybrid...very different.

I don't see why I should want a hybrid.
Our MT S has more than enough power and torque for the driving we do, and decent enough gas mileage that I don't worry about the price of gas. (27 mpg average on the highway).
I think I would rather go for an all EV. Personally, I'm waiting for the ID.Buzz to replace my VW Eurovan, 2002.

Ditto with the 918. My biggest concern with a hybrid is the weight, but the 918 weighed about 3650 pounds - if I’m not mistaken, that’s about the same as a 992 TTS.

I’m excited to see what a hybrid 911 would look like
