Good to know. Will I ever know what exactly was repaired at the port, though?

Doubtful. I think it is different state to state based on state law. But keep in mind that minor repairs at the port are fairly standard. If you have purchased more than a few cars, there is a very high likelihood that at least one has had something addressed in the port process. This situation is just getting more attention because it is more widespread, there have been some cars with very significant damage and there has more publicity due to social media.

Thanks. It was the SM at the dealer who initiated the idea of bringing the car up here without being repaired first. I may just let the process play out and see what happens.

I’m sure the port is equipped to be able to fix damaged cars, I’m not sure I would be willing to accept a damaged vehicle and when we are paying that money I want the car to be perfect.

This would take the joy of unwrapping the car of your dreams.

Just my opinion of course.

Well I was one of the actually lucky ones. My car survived unscathed. I should get it delivered later today. I got mine at Porsche Austin. Apparently 7/56 cars of theirs were a total loss. I am sorry for those customers. I can only imagine the emotion as I felt I was there too a few days ago. The photos I have so far still have the shipping covers but apparently the car passed pdi and is all good.

Congratulations! That’s great to hear some good news.

Still haven’t heard from my SA in Houston and I’m a bit nervous to call or check TYD. It’s crazy that my car could be fine and here any moment or totaled!

Your dealer can find out - they won't be able to get a list of parts - but you might see something like "repair passenger mirror". I know (at least for BMW), the dealer can get some inkling as to the damage. But as noted, I'm just about 100% positive, any paint work has to be disclosed and comes with a "here is some $ for your trouble" and yes, I believe you can refuse the car. Short story, push hard on your dealer to find out the issue.

I was wondering, is the Bose amplifier the same as other Porsche models? I would be willing to bring my own amplifier to get the vehicle sooner...

Very sorry to hear that, hopefully the new one will be built quickly !

I haven't pick up mine yet. Still shopping around for insurance quotes, financing and the dealer is kinda slow to communicate...

Well my TYD disappeared and then reappeared with an August delivery date. Guess it was damaged enough to total.

What kind of negotiating leverage do I have? I paid a decent ADM (~12k), partly so I could have an April delivery. Am I justified in asking the dealer to remove the ADM?

💯 justified. I wouldn’t even hesitate.

I heard from my dealer that my Macan S has been released from PDI, and the same night I got an email from PCNA with the $500 voucher for not having the power steering column.

Keeping fingers crossed to get it soon.

Hopefully quicker than mine, which was cleared of damage in Houston a week ago and is still sitting in Houston waiting for a truck.

I like to hear some opinions to either add or remove on this new rebuild since my car a total loss. PNCHLAM7
