Just ordered my first Porsche 911 GTS with 25k ADM
hi everyone. new member here in SoCal. I never had a Porsche before. feel very excited to join the community.
today I went to the dealership and got my allocation on the GTS with 25k ADM.
Paid 2.5k deposit and got the build sheet with V200 status.
i was told that was the last allocation they have so far for GTS so i didn't hesitate a bit and took it.
i didn't really do my homework before going into the dealership(my bad) . now i am wondering if the 25k ADM is reasonable in Cali. what do u guys think?
another question: i really wanted to order it with the aero kit, but i was told they can't put it in as Porsche is back order on those for at least 10 months. is that true? or should i ask my SA again and push him to put that into the order?

Wouldn't this post have been better before you actually put down the deposit?
As it is, who cares if it's reasonable.
If you're happy, go and enjoy the wait (and wait and wait).
Don't listen to what any of us have to say about what is "reasonable" when it comes to how you spend your own money.

That's pretty decent ADM for a GTS, some are paying $30k or slightly more. Given you have no prior relationship and did not get waitlisted but actually got a V200 status, that's reasonable.
Now for the bad news, the Ukraine war has forced Porsche to stop production of the 911 as of 3/31, so if TYD doesn't have a build completion date CP8.0 for your build of 3/31/22 or earlier, there's no telling when the car will be built. Aerokit stop sale is the least of your worries. Also, the Aerokit likely won't be available again until the 2023 model year allocations with September or later deliveries, and you have a model year 2022 allocation. The Aerokit has been a short supply item and each model year there is a limited supply and once they are gone they don't come back until the following model year, or at least that has been the pattern for 2 years now, and I suspect with supply chain issues worsening and the war, that is not going to change and no amount of pressure on your SA will change that.

You live in Cali where there is a lot of money chasing low supply so your ADM isn't shocking. My dealer doesn't charge ADM, but they did require the PFF done by them. They get a nice profit on that of a few grand that they normally wouldn't receive.
By comparison, I paid $10k "ADM" for my Rolex GMT Pepsi and I love it and I'm glad I could afford to buy it instead of waiting two or three years for an "allocation." Money is precious, but if you worked hard for it and it doesn't hurt your long-term financial planning, it's money well spent. that's why we work so hard.
Enjoy!

They make 11 percent on the car and 25K added ti that is a lot of money .
Have you done a build yet ?

Congrats on the GTS allocation.
ADM is part of doing business in this environment and it’s become part of the transaction that’s negotiable.
It’s not clear that we’re ever going back to negotiating a price below MSRP for desirable cars. The model going forward is fewer cars on the lots and more customer ordered cars. For the first time ever, the majority of GM cars are now custom orders. A great benefit of the new car buying experience is getting the exact car/spec that you want. That’s a good thing.

First off, welcome and congratulations. Buying a toy like a 911 should be fun especially when you get to spec it yourself.
SoCal dealers have a reputation around here for being expensive but whether that's true in each case, well it's the internet so who really knows. Only you can say if $25k over is worth it. Either way you have an allocation which is more than many people can say, and being in California if you do for some reason change your mind that $2.5k is fully refundable. By the time you get the car it'll seem more like $1.5k.

The only thing crazy about paying a $25k ADM right now is that you might not even see the car for at least a year. I feel like I'd want a clause written in to the contract if market conditions change.
