Just ordered my first Porsche 911 GTS with 25k ADM

Well- the 911 market will be tight for the next 3 years. So you could probably drive the car for a couple years and sell it for MSRP. So- figure $25,000 for a couple years of fun- sounds good to me

You knew about rennlist prior to purchase agreement, joined a few days ago, and say you agreed to $25k ADM?
I realize it’s the internet, and we could all be lying about what we have or are getting, but seems suspect of establishing a narrative that $25k ADM is the norm.

As far as the Aerokit, I had not heard the 10 month delay quoted before (the only thing I have seen officially from Porsche was an 8 week delay for GTS orders), but of course with everything going on, it is possible it has been extended significantly. You can always have him put the order in with the Aerokit, and it will either reflect the delay or kick the order back. That would at least give you confirmation of the delay and/or stop sale.

I snagged an allocation from a SoCal dealership. They are not selling to non-residents (glad I kept my CA residency even though I am in the military) and they initially asked for a $15k ADM. We settled on a $10k ADM...and this is for a C2. Got my welcome email from TYD this morning. I called dealerships in every state. Either they are not selling out of state or they have significant ADMs or they have waitlists 15+ deep with zero allocations. It's like this with everything right now it seems. I feel it is going to get worse. While not ideal paying ADMs, I wanted a car before next year and it's still about the same as buying a used one.

The supply constraints (from wiring harnesses, to semiconductor chips, to raw materials like nickel and aluminum and even steel) -- even if the Ukraine situation were to be resolved today -- are not going to ease for the foreseeable future, or even in the long-term future, perhaps.
So a 25k ADM now eventually turn to a 35k ADM down the road, even assuming you can get an allocation.
Something about a bird in hand and bushes comes to mind.

Bil, I can assure you that paying over sticker is the norm in today's market. Right now the GTS is the hot item so the dealers are getting all they can. I ordered a 911 cabriolet back in September for my wife and she has an allocation for a mid March build which has been scheduled for March 18th. WE got that car at MSRP since we had previously bought a boxter S from that dealer. After driving a 911 that the dealer had in February, i got the bug myself. I spent several weeks making calls on new cars that were in "inventory" and almost all were above MSRP. I finally found what i was looking for at an out of state dealership 911 C4S coupe. When i called i was shocked that he said MSRP. I ended up getting it for $2000 below MSRP and the car will be in the port in Davisville RI this weekend. So the long answer is there are cars out there at MSRP but you have to really dig in to find them. I only found 2 dealerships that were at MSRP. Good luck on your build date and never look back!

It would bother me to pay even one cent over MSRP . I would have kept my former car. I did do it one time in my life and regretted it . The difference is that the car was right in front of me and your ordering process is very challenging now . I waited a long time and I still don't have the car key in my hand . Its at the port in Emden . Start to finish it has been almost a year for me . I will post whether I would do it again after about a year with my car when the novelty erodes . This has been the most agonizing car purchase.
They make 11 percent on the car and 25K added ti that is a lot of money .
Have you done a build yet ?

the experience of car purchasing has changed so much ever since covid (longer built time, ADMs) and i think it only makes us enjoy the car more

i don't think i can speculate thing as a newbie Porsche owner (an unofficial one) and i don't think i can change what people think on the ADM.
