Default Snowflake

New symbol on dash - a snowflake between and below the two left dials. I looked all over the manual but couldn't find it. What's if mean? (I also have a wrench symbol on the right, but I know that is for maintenance schedule.)

On my car it means the outside temp is at/below 38F

I guess that makes sense, since today is probably the first time since I have had the car that it was this cold (Atlanta). Seems like a silly indicator to have.

Not so silly depending on where you live. It's a helpful reminder to switch to winter tires. We had it in our BMWs as well.

When the light comes on you should hear a warning chime as well.

Indeed, I too had it in my 5 series BMW. Also, there was a chime that accompanied the snowflake.

Actually seems like a great warning for drivers not used to winter driving conditions.

I saw the symbol today when I took my car out and I was curious what it was. It was around 37-38 degree out but sunny. I feel the need to warm up my 1.5 week old 992😎

Very common on many vehicles in the past few years to have a " potential ice" warning of some kind. Even my 4 year old GMC truck has it.

If it's 37º 38º, it's the "Possible Ice" warning, reminding you to drive just a little bit more careful.

Bridges may ice, summer tires may not have expected grip.
