I got my notice on both our cars for tech package subscriptions now being required . Do I assume our NAV doesn’t get updated if we don’t
subscribe ? This might be the one too many ask of me from Porsche. Any opinions to share?

You don't get NAV updates or live traffic in navigation. Location and Porsche Connect features like lock/unlock go away as well. In the US, it's around $200 for an annual subscription, which compared to Mercedes, is a bargain.

Not worth the $$ IMO, but will reluctantly re-subscribe....
Also here in Canada Mercedes does not charge for these features.

Sorry did I read right, you can't lock and unlock your car with your FOB after your year subscription? Or is it just you can't via remote with the app?
This is just another revenue stream for them. Only interest would be a remote start, for the rest I have a phone with (free) apps (weather, traffic, lodgings, gas stations...).
Very poor taste IMHO for a car in this category.
Please note:
I started getting these annoying reminders in the wife's 2020 Macan and the only way to stop these messages was to delete the Porsche profile associated with that vehicle. I'll be doing the same when the year is up for the 992 as I can't remember when I (if ever) used it.

Phew....
Thanks, no need for that. A remote to get the car warmed up by -40 now... but I wouldn't pay a subscription for that .

After my “free” trial I did NOT renew any of it. I can’t say I miss any of it. If I need/want traffic, I have Google Maps and/or my Garmin GPS. Frankly, the traffic function via Porsche Connect wasn’t all that.
