Has anybody put a tune(56 hp) in there at 992 Carrera S yet

Good to know. Thank you for the clarification. That makes a difference to me and might to some others.

Because it directly responds to JoePro’s original thread and as you can see several members (Breny and jnkirk) have added clarity to the warranty issue with GAIC or APR which was helpful to me and maybe others. that is what a forum is about.

Yes, I did a custom tune in The Netherlands on my C2S and also added an Akrapovič exhaust and sport cats. Originals it measured 465hp and now 570hp. The difference is huge, it's another car now.
I have to admit that sometimes I have doubts that the power is too much now for my RWD. When driving anything lower then 130 km/h the rear wheel slides very easy in the current cold (1-10 degrees Celcius) conditions.
So I am in doubt to let it return to stock again, besides some usefull tweaks (cold start from 1500 to 1000rpm and revving above 3000rpm allowed during stand still in neutral).

I say do it, few of my buddies have M-Engineering tunes, really wakes up the car. No issues with warranty as of yet, but they haven't had big engine problems.
I guess it helps the local dealer is tuner friendly though.

If you boil it down, it’s really just a financial question, not a performance one.
It’s like an investment with a slight amount of risk. Do you want to put that money into your happiness? How happy will it make you? In a very unlikely scenario it could lead to a financial loss, but very likely that will never happen.
So financially—what risk can you take?

My concern is how these mods effect warranty because there is no such thing as a tune install that cannot be detected. I am concerned that Porsche will use the tune or mods to try to void the warranty if I have a major issue with engine, turbos or LSPI during the warranty period.
Even piggyback tunes can be discovered if they look hard enough.
i know over on bimmerpost when BMW wanted to find if I car was tuned they could. Porsche could def see if your car exhibited outside the norm performance parameters even if they don’t physically see the tune

They are not bulletproof by a long shot. While at dealer for door rattle fix my 2021 base with 208 miles lost the engine completely. Porsche came through like champs but no engine is bulletproof...tune at your own risk

Tupper is correct, it's a financial decision. Your warranty is gone when you tune (as it applies to an engine and drivetrain) Either your tune company backs it in writing or they don't. Having a "dealer-friendly" tune is moot unless you have it in writing.as Porsche AG is buying the engine under warranty, not the dealer.
Assume the risk and put on your Big Boy pants if you do. Costs money to play the game, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, just like doing track days. Thinking you can "reverse" evidence of a tune is folly, do you think Porsche hasn't figured out to detect that sort of thing when a $ 60,000 replacement engine is on the line? Get real.
I have had two "tunes" on vehicles (non-Porsche). One did nothing but screw up the car's performance and make it jittery and hesitant. The other blew the head gaskets on the car from excessive turbo boost. I won't do any more tunes - my thought is sell your car (great time to do that) and buy the model that has the factory power you want. Can get very expensive to do out of pocket repairs.

"To tune or not to Tune" that be the question
Remember- Porsche has to prove that the tune, in fact, caused whatever damage could occur, and, if any. An expert tuner knows what parameters to play with and what is in the "acceptable" range as to not cause any damage to the engine. The reason you go with a good tuner is for this expertise.
I have tuned a couple Porsches and I do not have any concerns. But- how much faster will you want this GTS to go when out of the box this thing is doing 0-60 in 2.8 sec.??? Do you really plan on racing high school kids in their Subarus'??
