Shortage of 911s? ...sales figures tell the tale.

Never, ever, said the 911 retail delivery figures were inaccurate or falsified. I said, state registration data is the final arbiter and is accurate. And I stand by my statement that DMV delays are overstated. That being said, unless I know which state you are specifically referring to, your state my be an outlier.
How do I know this to be fact....I see the data. I can order up state registration data for any local market area, region, state, national.

The sales numbers release by Porsche AG with regards to 911 sales are 100% accurate facts. There were zero 911s sitting on dealer lots in 2021 meaning they were all sold and they all will be registered once the DMV delays are worked through. Making registration data simply redundant
Extensive DMV delays in many states are also documented facts.

So, if correcting misquotes, out of context quotes, and putting words in my mouth is a waste of everyone's time. You win, I'm out.

Again, never ever said sales numbers as reported by Porsche, or any other manufacturer are not accurate. I said state registration data is the final arbiter. To wit; check any news feed from today concerning 2021 U.S. sales volume leader. The #1 story is Toyota dethroning GM for the 1st time. Do you think, for one second, Toyota is #1 because Toyota reported retail sales data says they are? Hell no. 3rd party verified retail sales transactions.

Porsche's press release says Porsche dealers sold, as in deposited customers' full payments, for 10042 911s in the USA from 1/1/2021 to 12/31/202. These are accurate yearly sales figures because there were no 911s sitting on dealer lots and thus dealers could pull any sales forward to pad the numbers to meet sale incentives. The number of 911s sold is exactly that. Any registration data is redundant, get over it.

In the matter we are discussing (Porsche 911 sales) the distinction between dealer delivery and customer delivery is basically the same at the moment. The cars are being sold almost immediately upon delivery to the dealer, there is no large quantity of 911s sitting on dealer lots. I get what you are saying..when there was tons of inventory there were a lot of games going on to juice sales numbers but there is really no need to do that right now.

ADM's may eventually go away... but today's ADM could be tomorrow's MSRP, as prices will likely increase to match inflation. So those refusing to pay a 10k ADM now, may end up paying that anyway as MSRP when they finally get an allocation.

I've been buying Porsches for almost 35 years. Through all sorts of economic booms and downturn's. I've never seen them raise prices in the manner of which you speak. A base Carrera which now starts at $102,500 it's not going to be $112,000 this year or even the year after that and probably even the year after that. You can pay all the ADMs you want but stop trying to convince others that you've gotten a good deal, because you haven't.
