Change old oil (and filter) before you park it for winter. Old oil can contain unburned gas and may also acidify due to unburned hydrocarbons. Engine protecting detergent additives will also be less effective in old oil vs new. Both are not good for your engine internals. Changing in Spring again is added insurance but usually not necessary due to zero or low running time.
