Default Rear seat belt sockets

Does anyone know if the seat belt ‘sockets’ can be unclipped so they can tilt over rather than being held in the normal vertical position?

Not unclipped, but they can certainly be unbolted and flipped over. Not sure why one would want to do that; but it is possible.
A word of warning; the electrical connector for the switch in each Seat Belt Buckle is incredibly fragile. Be prepared to replace these connectors. That probably means two new connectors as well as the repairs to the wiring to install the new connectors.
