I have the option "Preparation for Roof Transport System".
If I want to use a roof box, do I have to buy the Porsche Roof Transport System?
And do I need to buy the Porsche roof box?
Please settle this for me once and for all. I have a 2020 with the metal (body-colored) sunroof. I didn't select preparation for roof transport as an option when ordering back in April 2019. Will my 2020 992S accept the Porsche roof rails and luggage box without any modification?
Few things cooler than a 911 with roof rack and luggage box.

Providing that you spec'd a metal or glass sunroof, older sunroof-equipped 992s came with preparation for roof rack -- using the roof rack used to require a sunroof.
Porsche has since made the roof rack fitment possible for all new 992s (sunroof or no sunroof) with the preparation for roof transport spec'd.
Update: my July 2019 build 2020 992S with metal sunroof has no obvious attachment points for the roof transport system (RTS). Called my dealer parts department, attendant looked up my VIN and he said he didn’t think the RTS would fit. Anyone else in similar position know otherwise?
FYI, I just ordered the 320 liter Porsche box from getPorscheparts.com. It's on sale. Boxes have been in short supply for the last year.
Thanks so much for your order!

You should have 2 rubber seams that run down the sides between the side top panels and the sunroof. There is a way to pull up a metal part out of that rubber seam near the front and near the rear for fitment of the roof rack bars. There is a video on here that demonstrates it. Your metal sunroof 2020 should have the seams and attachment hardware. IT IS NOT a flip tab like on some BMWs and the like. You don't just flip up some notched body color plastic and reveal it. It is much less obvious, to the point you have to know how to find it. I believe the transport system should come with a part to do so, but you could use just about anything.
