OBD Lock?

OBD Lock?
There's been a rash of auto thefts here in Toronto in recent time. And while Porsche brand cars don't seem to be as targeted as the Lexus 350, the Honda CRV, the Ford F150s....I'm still concerned.
Has anybody tried any of the OBD solutions?
I found this one that seems to be good:

Faraday boxes for keys, immobilizers, the CLUB...wondering what other methods people have to ensure our cars don't get stolen?

These cars use a rolling encryption between the key fob and the ECM that changes at every start. You are not going to be able to get the car running without one of the key fobs or Porsche being satisfied that you are the car’s owner if you need new fobs. So stealing it will require a flatbed or strong armed robbery where you give up the keys. These other gadgets may make you feel good, but they don’t really accomplish much more than that.

yes, it does. the signal hijack stuff works on some specific earlier fob systems. it doesn’t work on newer cars, or on your porsche.

FWIW - contrary to the internet rumors, these fobs do not randomly broadcast the encryption data so other devices can intercept it. The car knows where in its proximity the fob is and the fob knows this to. This precludes any easy spoofing when the key is not very near or in the car.

You could get a sprint booster. There’s an option to have a code attached to the program that completely disengages the electronic throttle. You also get the benefit of being able to custom tailor your throttle response, too.

No one is going to steal your 992.
If it were to be stolen, it will be via flatbed to a container that will be shipped out of the country. If they wanted it that badly, there was nothing that you could have done to prevent it.
Stop living in fear. Enjoy life. Drive your car.
