2022 Std PDLS Vs PDLS+ Update
Has anyone taken delivery of a 2022 with standard LED headlights (not the $1200 PDLS+ option)?
The configurator shows the standard headlights as blacked out now instead of having a silver housing and chrome ring as last year's model. It would be good if someone could post pics. If it's true they've now blacked out the standard PDLS headlights, I may uncheck this option to save the money. TYIA guys!

That’s just a configurator rendering issue. The PDLS+ headlights were always the ones with the chrome ring.
If you plan on driving your 911 at night, the PDLS+ upgrade is certainly worth it, but if you don’t care about such things and/or have young eyes, the base headlights are fine.

Thanks for the input, can you post a photo of yours? I'd like to see the closeup shot and there aren't many if any 911's around this area on the lot. I like the idea of swivel lighting and auto on/off highs, but as long as they have a wide beam pattern, I would do without this upgrade as well if the housings and everything are black.

I agree, the technology has really improved over the last few years. I have plenty of time before the lock, so I may still get it, but I would like to see a comparison of stock vs + and can't seem to find it anywhere. Anyway, I have it on my RR Sport and it is quite convenient. I'm sure a lot of manufacturers are now factoring in the bright LED street lights now that seem to trigger auto feature as well, specifically when going up or down a hill.

Thank you! What I suspected, and what is difficult to ascertain on the configurator is that with the MY22 it seems the silver trim around the quad DRLs is now black and that's what I'm trying to find out. I'm not even sure if the dealer will know. Nice looking Python btw!

Read my post - I said the PDLS+ are the best headlights I've ever had in a vehicle I owned. I did not do a compare / contrast to standard headlights in a 992 because I've not owned a 992 with standard headlights. Now - why do I think they're the best? On both high and low beams they just illuminate the road and peripheral surroundings SO well. The auto headlights for high/low are phenomenal - they work seamlessly and you'd never be flicking your highs and lows on as much as these do automatically (so, your vision is enhanced, IMO, to the greatest extent possible for as much time as possible). The swivel feature is nice also - I've had that in other vehicles also.
