992 - Thoughts on Open steering wheel
How do you think it would be to drive a 911 with an open steering wheel?
Porsche Mission R EV prototype.

Three Wheelin'
Downside: You lose all the controls on the steering wheel.
Upside: Hey, you can see all 5 dials on the dash!
Definitely not my cup of tea.

Probably a bad idea unless you can go lock to lock without lifting hands, like a racecar. I wouldn't want have to shuffle the wheel in a hurry and risk catching the gap. Same reason why the yoke on the plaid is a bad idea

I would never buy the Tesla Plaid specifically due to the steering wheel (yoke... ughh). They should have made it an option instead of the only option. The wheel posted by the original poster on this thread is horrible looking to my eye, and probably to 99% of 911 driver's eyes I'll bet. Very hard pass...

As was said in the Tesla video - "Don't let ANYBODY tell you this is a good idea."
