New cool stuff for our cars!
I took delivery of my Porsche three weeks ago. I’ve been amazed at the number of cool interior and exterior parts that are available. Before I bought the car I purchased a Frunk liner and a re-issued OEM flashlight and tire gauge. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been very excited at some of the new goodies available or in the works. Car Pokes has a no drill rear license plate that is a game changer. Not only does the dealer not have to drill holes in your plastic bumper but you can change license plates and registration stickers easily without worrying about damaging your car!
Other very cool goodies that are available or on my wish list:
1. Sports chrono bezel covers that snap on. They look like OEM bezels but you can color match them to your exterior leather, stitching or exterior colors. I’m getting one in Chalk Grey to match my deviated stitching.
2. Leather covered “dummy keys” This was my idea and trying trying to turn it into a reality. I have a full factory leather interior. Most of the remaining interior plastic doesn’t bug me but I’m not a fan of the dummy key that I see and touch every time I start or turn off the car. How cool would it be to have this cheap piece of plastic covered in Porsche leather with deviated stitching? Stay tuned.
3. Cover for sun visor warning label. Porsche owners are paying $1,000 or more to buy European sun visors in vinyl, leather or Race-Tex because they don’t have the yellow warning labels. What if you could get a sticker that matched your sun-visor that covered the yellow sticker? A few stickers are available on eBay but they are generic and don’t quite match the OEM material.

There’s a guy on car pokes —crazy Eddy I think is his name—that does this sort of custom leather for Porsches. Might be worth reaching out.

Great minds think alike. Crazy Eddie is my contact for the leather wrapped dummy key. He also sells other leather items that are fairly priced including the famous Ed Guards for the bucket seats.

I particularly like the leather wrapped dummy key because you interact with it every time you’re in the car and you don’t have to worry about breaking tabs - you can switch it out in 1 minute. I like the color key fob sides also but mine stays in my pocket or my dresser drawer.
