Default 992 S with Armytrix Catback

Has anyone seen or heard this?

This video is a bit underwhelming as they play a song over it:

It's a $2700 cat back for PSE (which I have). Vivid racing says it takes 5-7 hours to install, and works with the valve.

However in reading online it looks like you have to use an aftermarket remote to control the valve - does anyone know if this connects to the OEM valve actuator?

Seems like for ~$3300 installed it's a solid, returnable to factory setup that is not crazy expensive and improves sound - the degree to which it improves sound seems unclear based on searching the forum and YouTube though.

I'm in Austin TX and there are a few specialist shops around here that seem capable to install/work on the 992 now.

If you're remotely handy, you can do the install yourself. I installed the soul full exhaust myself, the bulk of the time was taking off the damn clamp that secures the cat to the turbo. The remotes are probably used to fully open the valves whenever you want.

Am I one of the only ones who is more interested in potentially doing a tune than any sort of aftermarket sound enhancement or lowering springs?

I'm kinda bleh on the aftermarket right now.

So much I want but so many compromises...... then the fact that so many exhausts are months away, kinda kills the fun

I'm trying to be cognizant of the factory warranty - seems very expensive to have an issue after a tune. But the chances of having an issue seem to be incredibly low. I think for peace of mind the exhaust checks the box on sound, and if that isn't enough to satisfy the never ending craving for more, then I'd be tempted to just order/build a low-spec turbo. My current thinking is that the actual power of the car is highly sufficient/more than capable, and if it sounded like it performed, that could squash the issue.

A tune is my first order of business once there is some real world data available. I have not seen any data from anyone taking it on a road course or dragstrip yet. I want to make sure that if I do give up my warranty it will serve the purpose I want it to.

Boggles my mind why so many people post videos promoting an exhaust and then overlay music so you can't hear the exhaust.

In fairness, I guess my mind is easily boggled.

^ I know, it is thoroughly irritating.

Common sense.....you can't buy it with money

I just put in armytrix sport cats and akrapovic. Sounds mean as hell and is exactly what I am looking for from PSE.

That sounds great - I'm trying to avoid sport cats as I've heard if you do them it requires a tune - was that true in your case?

A tune isn't necessary with sport cats unless you're looking to extract maximum performance benefits. You'll get very marginally improved turbo spool and 10-20% more sound. You'll also likely get a CEL which is easily cleared with a cheap OBD2 scanner. Tune allows you to permanently prevent O2 sensor-related CEL and fully utilizes the high flow nature of the cats for performance.

I would like to report that I have not gotten any CEL in the past two days even after going right into sport mode on a cold start.

Very odd

Cross your fingers. You may be one of the fortunate ones. It doesn't happen on all of the cars, but it does sound like it's becoming a lot more common.
My 991.2 C4 GTS had sport cats. Never had a code. My 992 will eventually have sport cats. I'm less confident this time around (about the CEL).

I spoken to a tuner who said that the OPF filter is part of the cats, so when you replace the cats you always get a CEL.
