Default Targa+GT3 or TTS+Spyder

Which 992 combination would you rather own:
1) 992 Targa 4S PDK + 992 GT3 MT
2) 992 TTS coupe + 718 Spyder MT

I plan to daily drive the PDK and weekend/summer drive the GT car. I only do a handful of track days per year, so the hardcore RS variants are out plus I want/need a PDK and MT combo so my wife can drive the DD occasionally. It feels a bit like the TTS coupe and the Spyder make more sense and will offer more diversity of driving experience given the larger differences between the two platforms, but for some reason I just can't seem to shake the idea of a Targa and that beautiful swan neck wing.

Thanks. That's how I'm thinking about it. I have a TTS due to arrive in a couple months. I'm just really struggling to decline the GT3 and wait for the Spyder. I'd only there was a Spyder with the cup engine....

Definitely the second. TTS and the Spyder.

If those are the only two combinations you're considering I would take the TTS and the Spyder.

This. Just make sure you can deal with the manual top. But if it’s only used on nice days with no sudden rain around then the manual top is fine.

TTS + Spyder.

The argument for the Spyder is self evident

When the Turbo S breaks in, it’s a fun car with personality. Going into it, I thought it was basically a Carrera with more power but this isn’t really true. It drives like a different car. It’s not just more power, but the way the power is delivered. It’s a very traditional feeling turbocharged car and you may or may not like that - the Carrera/Targa is going to be more linear.

Handling is also surprisingly good. Better than the Carrera, IMO.

I’m not sure if you’ve driven previous generations of Turbo S, but compared to the 991 series, I’d say the 992 TTS is a little more raw and more interesting to drive.

Option 2 seems like a no brainer out of the two. I'd love a spyder but not quite sure I'm ready to daily drive it.... spyder would be the ultimate nice weekend car and TTS will happily perform all other duties

Option 2

Re Option 1
I’d rather have the PDK in the GT3, so that I rev the snot out of it care-free without the overrev devil dance. Go for the MT in the Targa. There’s nothing wrong with a manual in a daily driver.

Thanks RKD and others. I haven't driven the 991 TT, but I like the idea of the TTS having a bit more character than my 992 C4S. January can't come soon enough. I don't know why I'm having such a hard time passing on the GT3. Every time I am about to call my dealer to tell him to put me on the Spyder list I wait another day. I'm sure the GT3 is gone by now anyhow....

I can't wait for the TTS to arrive in Jan. Seems like the TTS + Spyder combo is the clear winner. I wonder if the ultimate solution really is a stripy C4 DD, Spyder, and a GT4RS, though that might be pushing my budget envelope. I plan to DD the TTS. We'll see how that goes.
