First time in a new 911...

First Porsche. 911 has been my dream car since I was 4 years old. Had a 991.1 base Cab for 4 days off Turo for my wedding and had a blast. Ordered 992S without setting foot in a dealership. Only one available to sit in at a different dealer was a base coupe with 14 way seats so I didn’t bother as I was set on 18 ways and C2S Cab. First one I drove was at PEC-ATL delivery on their track and then got in mine and drove 500 miles home. 0 regrets.
Luckily when it comes to 911s, Porsche really doesn’t mess them up. About as safe a blind car purchase as you can have if you want a new sports car in the $140-200k range.

First Porsche coming from a M4, but when I was ready to order there were no 911s on dealer lots. To complicate matters there was an allocation available for a July delivery, but I could not pull the trigger on an $150k + order until I had driven one, even though I was sure I’d like it. After several rentals fell through I did 1.5 hrs at PECLA in a C2S, not the same as a road drive, but good enough to place an order. The next day my SA called to say the allocation was gone. That was for the better as my spec included an Aerokit and they were on hold until the 22 MY. So the first time I drove a 911 on public roads was on the drive home from the dealer ~ 3weeks ago.

Back to back, about 15 minutes driving each and another 10 just sitting in each. For some it would of been a tougher choice but my being 6 ft 6 settled me on the 911S. Loved the other 2 though.
Emailed and called the dealer multiple times
after the test drives and got completely ghosted. No one ever returned any call or email. This was a year ago. Maybe I look less than afluent?
Eventually found a great dealership and bought a PTS C2S and took deliver a couple months back at a small discount.

First and last Porsche I drove was my uncle's '77 Turbo. That was in 1977. I've always wanted one, sat in a bunch and now I'm getting one, when, who knows.LOL

Drove a friend’s 991 GTS briefly. Drove a 992S at PECLA. That was it. But I’ve ordered two cars before (350Z and M2) sight and drive unseen prior.

Like many here, I never even sat in a 911 before I picked mine up. My plan was to pick it up 350mi away and enjoy a spirited ride home where I could learn about the car and put her through her paces.
Unfortunately my timing coincided w/the hurricane headed for Long Island. I rented a crappy Nissan Altima to get me down there. I smiled though knowing I'd be driving home in my new-to-me 2015 C4S cab. What I didn't anticipate was the six hours of traffic evacuating the area on the way home. On a positive note, the 85 degree temps and stifling humidity allowed me to both verify that the air blows cold and put the top down and learn how great the ventilated seats are. It reaffirmed my decision to go with PDK rather than a manual. It made some kids smile as they leaned out of their father's pickup window to get a better look. In short, it was a pretty awesome experience, all things considered.

We'd driven a pair of 991.2 cars, both with PDK: a coupe back in 2017 and a 2019 cab just prior to putting in our order last October for a new 992. Both times we loved the driving experience, but for a few dollars more (at the time), we knew we'd get a new interior, new PCM, and an eight-speed PDK shifter. It was money well spent.

Having had a 718 Boxster I thought I liked the space with two trunks but now with the 911 Cabriolet it is so easy to put all packages on the back seat and not having to open a trunk. The front trunk is plenty large to hold all the items I want to keep in the car all the time. The only problem is that I continually have trouble unlocking the seats to put them down. It has to be the worst system on any car in the world.

the back seat is the nicest place to put all packages

Yep, I also bought my first Porsche without even sitting in one or test driving (none was available at my dealership). Pretty darn excited!

Always dreamed of owning a 911 but was never in a position to do so. Never driven one, as a matter of fact it's been a while since I've had a sports car. In the past I've owned a VW VR6 Corrado, Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo, and a 1st gen Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo before I moved over to motorcycles. I bought a Tesla Model S Performance after being lured by the insane acceleration and ended up hating that car. Sold it and went straight to the Porsche dealer.
Carrera S should arrive at the beginning of Feb - really can't wait...

When I was a kid, my uncle gave my older brother a ride in the back seat of his new 356.
Jealous and seething, my father just couldn't allow me a similar ride. I never forgot that red car.
I briefly sat in a 992 front (not back) seat before ordering.
Recently, I gave my adult son an uncomfortable sideways ride in the back seat, completing that unfinished business.
