Default Replace the shift **** on a manual car

Got my C2S delivered about 2 weeks ago and I am in love with the car. The only single flaw I got find so far is the shift ****. Porsche did a very poor job and finishing it in plastic and it is very unpleasant to shift gears and feel that plastic. Did anyone replaced it already? I saw some options (Function First, custom made) but could not find any instruction on how to replace on a 992. Is it the same as in the 991? Any advise?

Thanks (pics for attention :-) )

This should help. It's for the 991 but apparently 992 is the same.

I like that little cue ball. I haven't seen one in person so I don't know what it feels like. It must be textured, no?

I just checked with Numeric who advised that their short shifter package does not include a shift ****

Function First produces a first rate product. In addition to looking good, it's weighted which helps smooth out the shifts and you can raise or lower the height of the shifter. Mine is on a 991.2 but I'd imagine they'd fit a 992 model as the manual shifter is basically a carry-over.

I've confirmed with Function First that they do fit the 992.

do you happen to have any shots from further away?

I just put in the numeric short shifter and have been considering the function first **** in black with white writing.

trying to decide on aluminum vs delrin.

I ordered the Numeric with the stiffer spring option. I've only put it into the car a week ago, but the change is dramatic.

Even before installation the difference in build quality was significant. The Numeric is machined out of solid aluminum. The OEM piece was nearly 100% plastic.

Shifts on the Numeric are far shorter and more direct feeling. I'm really happy with it. I think a heavier shift **** like the Function First would help smooth out shifts a bit and really make this setup perfect.

Installation was straight forward and only took about an hour (taking my time not to break anything during the disassembly of the center console).

+1 with Brianja. Numeric shifter with 2mm spring was first upgrade to my 992S. Factory shifter good but plastic and cast metal. Numeric shifter all CNC machined. Enjoy it every shift.
