Default Leather (perforated) seats rapid wear/wrinkles.. poll

So I'm curious how many of us are having issues with wrinkles in the seating surface on our leather seats...? I started seeing it at around 9000miles, and now at 20K it's getting worse.. I tried to get it addressed under warranty and they showed me a silly letter from Porsche describing it as normal wear.... I've had many cars with leather seats and this isn't normal wear!

Checking with low milage and higher milage 2020 and newer owners..

Coming up to 30k miles and no issues. 18 ways with ventilation. In some respects, they’re better than new and wearing in nicely.

Early on, I had the wrinkling when you’d get up out of them, but the seats are properly broken in now. 👍

I had a BMW E39 that had premature seat wrinkles, etc. Replaced under warranty. My E92 is over 100K and only a bit of wear on the driver's seat bolster, otherwise holding shape well. Given the Porsche's premium price, I'd think this is a warranty issue.

I don't know if you can tweak the poll, but it may be interesting to see if there is a difference with the wrinkling between the 14 way seats and the 18 way seats.

it won't even let me correct my vote... I accidentally voted that I had no issues.. so the "high milage" with issues needs to add one more vote..

The voting UI on this site is a bit dated and limited...

Voters should post pics.

Mines not perforated, but showing normal wear characteristics for leather. Nothing that I’m unfamiliar with bolstered seats.

I'm on the road but I will try to remember... it's very obvious and in my case only on one portion of one cushion

I think the poll is likely to give you less than meaningful information because the wrinkling / wear on seats is also influenced greatly by the person sitting in the seat. Are they fit / thin or obese / just large? How do they get into the seat - technique (especially for bolster wear) used to get in the seat has a huge impact on seat wear and likely "wrinkling". Too many variables to make any meaningful assessment. I've had a bunch of vehicles from trucks to Audi/Mercedes/BMW/Porsche x 3 and I've never seen any kind of excessive seat wear. For reference I'm 6'2" and weigh 180 pounds with a BMI of 24. These comments will likely incite a riot in some people's minds but it is what it is. You want to see some real complaining about seat wear go over to the Corvette Forum - most of the old guy demographic can't get in the car without sliding their *** down the bolster. I'm 63 so I'm allowed to make disparaging comments about old guys.

I am 6'0, 185.. EXTREMELY OCD and mindful of everything about this car.. to the level where all my friends and girl friend turn it into a joke...

I've decided that if this isn't very common, but occurs rarely, then it might just be a defect in certain cases, and more reason to get it covered by warranty... if it were "normal" wear, it would occur frequently..

Might even be the case that many have similar issues but don't even bother complaining about it..

Creasing in the bolster after 1k mile. I am 5'11, 180lbs and I have been very careful getting in and out.

and let me guess .. dealer says it's normal wear? Mine is in a slightly different spot but started like that and by 10K got a lot worse..

I actually never thought of asking my dealer about the issue. May be I should? I opened a thread before asking other owners but it seemed like it's normal based on what most of the replies said. So I went on to look for a solution to make it look less obvious.

It still boggles my mind that we all take about being careful getting in and out and using the right technique. I have never had to give so much thought to get my *** into a seat without damaging it. If that does not scream "design flaw", I don't know what does.

To be 100% clear, this will in no way deter me from buying the car. I am just not willing to drink the Kool-Aid and give Porsche a free pass on the criticism.
