Default Porsche tracker - Insurance

Hello everyone, I bought a new 992 and sorting out the insurance. Almost any insurance needs a tracker, which is fine but I was wonder what could happen if the tracker fails to work and the car is stolen (from what I read, the Porsche tracker is know for being a bit unreliable). My insurance told me that they would not pay if the tracker was found to be malfunctioning…Did anyone had problem with the tracker or the insurance before?

Interesting - I think u r in the UK

R trackers mandatory on your side of the pond or do insurers imply lower premiums if you use them?

yes I live in the U.K.
Unfortunately it is mandatory, without they won’t insure the car. I was able to insure my Cayman without a tracker but it seems like the 911 is not going to be that easy

it wouldn’t be a problem but I’m worried about the tracker glitches…

Put two trackers in? That way if the one fails, the other will be there. Surprised they would refuse payout if the tracker malfunctions. Seems many criminals would dismantle the car and try and remove that if it is that common around there.
