I have a lot of music on SD cards. Since Porsche removed the SD card slot for the 992 and only have 2 USB-C ones, has anyone had success with using a USB-C for SD card adapter that is compatible with the PCM? Thanks in advance
I can't answer your question, but why not use something like a Samsung T5 SSD that has a USB-C connection? It's really small and can hold up to 2TB of music. That's what I've been doing on my cars and plan to do when my TTS gets here in a couple of months.
If not, Apple makes a SD reader that has a USB-C connector. I use it for transferring photos to my iPad pro. It may be worth a try.
Thanks for responding. I've tried a couple non-branded adapters but they are not compatible with the PCM. Looking for those who have had success with this set up and what item gave them success. thanks!

There's nothing great about SD cards. USB flash drives are cheap and have even greater capacities than SD cards. Just buy a USB-C drive for your car and do a one-time copy of the music files from your SD card to the USB-C drive. For example, this 32GB USB-C drive is $12.25:
Fantastic - thank you very much for the insight. I assume a 1TB will also work?
Is it not recognizing the "drive" or the "files"? If its the files, are they "FLAC", or "mp3"? I was bummed when my 981 wouldn't recognize .flac files.

When I compared the Bose to the Burmester on dealer cars (I got really lucky they had both) I had an SD cards with all .flac files and it was able to read them.

Some chipsets have a limit for how large of a USB drive they can support. Music files are small, so your lifetime collection probably fits within 32GB. So while USB drives are cheap and you can very large ones these days, just buy what you need for car music storage and be done with it. I bought a 32GB drive for my 992 and it cost about $10.
The 992 manual specifies a limit of 128GB for SD cards and no more than 10K music files. It will likely support more and this is just a testing limit, but no need to push things unless you need to.
