This light just came on today. I washed my car and started the car again and this light came on. Had my car for 3 months.
don’t think washing the car had anything to do with it.
Oh boy.....you too I guess! What is the year and model?
Mine has come on repeatedly. Start with the gas cap but likely it will be a small leak in your fuel line and will likely require them going to your engine and replacing the tank vent valve.
I had that during my first month of ownership. I brought it back to dealer and they found the gas tank vent valve sensor was faulty and replaced it. No issue since then.
There was another thread in the forum that described the same issue as well.
This is an important light to know & understand. Also keep in mind:
1) Illuminated CEL= ok to drive on, get code read ASAP. Get resolved.
2) Blinking CEL= as safely & as quickly as possible, get car to safe place, shut off engine, call 800-PORSCHE and wait for flatbed

Hi bobblehead,
Do you recall what was involved......did they have to do something similar to this.......
Very frustrating experience for me and leaves a bad taste given that these are brand new cars and to have a persistent check engine light come on this early is very surprising.
good question. I never asked if it was a major surgery type of repair. They told me it will be a one day job.
It should say what was done on your service report.....it should say everything that they had to take off and reassemble.
What I learned from previous experience is I always ask that they take pictures right before they take off the part, what it looks like after the parts are removed and then on reassembly. Porsche took those pictures for me and sent them to me.
I recalled my invoice has many pages (similar to what you show) when the dealer handed me the key. I did not read thru in finer details on the exact scope of work, honestly.
