For some reason, I’m not in love with this car. I’m thinking of pretrading for a 992S Cab allocation. My dealer will give me 142k for my 145k MSRP car.
The things I’m not crazy about:

coupe. I used to have a 997 cab. Loved that car. I got the coupe this time because i figured that i would get more days driving in it, but guess what? I only drive it in good weather anyway

Chalk is kind of cool but I love the Carmine Red

14 way seats are not comfortable for me, I’m 5’9” 160, i should have gotten the 18 way, snugger fit.

i started to configure another care and holy s***! Some options that were included seem not to be now. I spec’d the 7M and it used to include SPASM and sport exhaust. Is this no longer the case?? Also, if I do a tan interior, is the full leather version worth the 4 grand? The standard and the premium tan look almost identical on the configurator.
im now remembering what a slippery slope the configurator is!

I have a 992 cabrio and I can't recommend it enough. From what I gather it's a lot nicer with the top down then when a Targa roof is opened up.

I'm thinking of selling my car, but will likely keep it. I want a shark blue car, and I want a car that is stable over 200mph, but what I have since realized is 150mph with the roof down is about the limit for my hair before some strands start to break off (they slide down my face, but don't fly off due to how little wind enters the cockpit, the hairs that are breaking sit above the roof line).

So I've decided to keep my car and use it for sub 120 with the top down (The spec was a "dealer" (some SA made it I believe) spec but I love it) and try buying a 992 GT2 RS at some point in the future instead. I also have 14 ways, maybe next time I'll get something else next time but after I got my settings dialed in (took a few thousand miles honestly, I'm at 5600+ now) they're pretty decent

Due to some health problems I didn't do much driving outside of very fast drives to stores once a week from february to july or so, and I had gotten my car in December. Once that was sorted though its been a ton of fun and I can't stop putting on miles. What i've been told is the value of my car will be the same now as it is at 10,000 miles so you may want to take that under consideration as well. And don't sweat about good weather or bad weather, it's a 911, you will be ok, use wet mode and adjust your driving. I have a RWD, RAS cabrio that does fine in both dust storms and rain storms (with the top closed of course ), just make sure you have full PPF (unless you can envision yourself repainting in the future)

Buying my car was extremely easy, I walked into the dealership last december , looked at all new carreras, test drove a base and s cabrio back to back, looked to see which in stock models had RAS, saw that none did, looked at incoming new inventory and said I want that one. I highly doubt that is how it will work ever again. Your mileage may vary but you may find my thought useful for your decision making process.

Are you sure? I distinctly remember that my 2021 MT was part of a sports package that included PSE and SPASM. That damn configurator can be so confusing....

well, that’s as I understand it; my car is manual with SPASM, which I had to option, but I don't have PSE. MT does include sports chrono though.

a little unrelated but if you keep your car PSE might but something you can add later, the part is on suncoast iirc...its worth the money on any 992 new or (old) if you have good ears

Yeah, the 7 speed manual with sport chrono package is a co-cost option, but the Sport package with manual transmission is another line item that includes PSE and SPASM. That was $3,390.

Uhmm, why? Where do you think you could drive 200mph?
I just spent almost three weeks in Europe, including some time on the Autobahn, and there's really no where you could do that except maybe at night on some particular roads. I wouldn't be doing that personally.
Even on the record-setting lap on the Nurburgring the car doesn't reach 200 mph.

I got up at 181mph on my local roads. Nowhere special, gets empty sometimes. I have a place to do it safely and repeatedly, with plenty of practice at various speeds, i’m just missing a car that can do 200+.

Not everyone who buys a 911 is afraid to push it to the limits 🤣 Although the GT2 RS owners around me certainly are as I’ve never seen them above 45

JMHO, but it is unwise to be post information like this on a public forum. You might be surprised at how well local law enforcement (in Arizona) can piece things together and folks end up in jail.

Being "afraid" in this scenario is a rational behavior to avoid being an idiot.

Yep. No good comes with boasting about this stuff in a public online forum. If you ever get into an accident, posts like this can come back to haunt you.

We had a local incident where the speeding resulted in a fatality of the child and the DA used the driver’s Mustang forum posts against him. That driver hit a CRV going the speed limit while he was going in excess of 150MPH.

Very good point. Driving that fast on any public road is foolish, dangerous, and deadly. That man you spoke about was charged with murder under an implied malice theory. That means his conduct was so egregious and reckless that it satisfied a murder charge. He went to trial and was convicted of murder, and sentenced to prison. https://www.buckscountycouriertimes....news/308169787

There are lots of safe places to test the limits of a sports car. A public road is not one of them.

An empty public road with literally no cars on it seems like a great place to test the limits of a sports car. Who exactly is being put in danger on an empty road? Anyways, this isnt boasting its my daily driving. Geezers in 911s driving the speed limit dont bother me, superspeeders in 911s on empty roads shouldnt bother you. The road that I drive on recently had 5 bugattis driving down it back to back, I’m clearly not the only one who knows about the road I am talking about, and am far from the only person who knows how to use it properly.

If law enforcement had a problem with me or my driving they would have done something about it already, I can promise you that much. If I ever get into trouble, they will also be getting into trouble for letting me drive so fast for so long with no consequences, so you’ll have to start with asking law enforcement why they have yet to do anything, either that, or ADOT and coppers both turn a blind eye to my high speed runs because they know they have nothing to worry about (or are all prepared to go to jail with me for aiding and abetting)

My point anyways was, waiting for good weather to drive your 911 is kinda dumb, its a 911 not a $900 car ordered from wish.com
