The base 911 didn’t even have launch control, so it’s amazing how close they are. I realize neither does the GT3, but if you got SC on the base, the 0-60 would probably be a good bit closer until the GT3 monster motor takes over.

They mentioned something about a trick with holding down both paddles shifters, does anyone know what they are referring to?

Interesting...everyone talks about the acceleration between the two cars. But to me, it was the similarity of the braking performance that caught my eye, and it confirms my belief that for street driving, the $9K PCCB option is not a good value. Unless of course you have brake dust phobia

They say the PCCB really performs better after the rotors have been warmed up.

Could be that in the video they had not had a proper warm up period, which makes sense with drag racing. Track driving I’m sure is a different story.

Can anyone confirm if this is true?

The GT3 had PDK and launch control for a high (6000?) rpm start, the Carrera could only launch at 4000 due to no launch control. On a proper surface the GT3 would have smoked the Carrera running well into the 10's.

My bet is that if the base car would have been equipped with Sports Chrono it might have been a little closer!

Such a great and entertaining video. A lot of perspectives will be shared for sure, but for me the real story was the braking performance of the Carrera. Yes recognizing that perhaps the GT3 PCCB may not have been at optimum temp, but still very impressive indeed. Porsche once again is a master at efficient performance. Now after many laps on a track, I am sure it would be a different story.

I would like to see how the base with Sport Chrono and proper launch control would fair.
Then download a $2500 tune and see how that run goes.

Accelerated “briskly” (aka mashed it to the floor) the other day in my base and almost made myself sick. I’ll admit I get motion sickness pretty easily (no amusement park rides that go in circles for me thanks) but damn. Count me among those that feel the base is more than enough for street use.

For road use, I think that the £50,000 is far more beautiful in my pocket than the small difference between 2 very fast cars.

I would really like some base Carrera lap times, as I have seen over 1.5G on my "base".

1/4 mile GT3: 11.4 sec
1/4 mile Carrera S: 11.5sec
Same figures, but on the road the Carrera S feels quicker.

C2S runs an 11.2 1/4 mile.
