992 S deposit made to get me on the list.
Good news....MSRP
Bad news....2 -2.5 year wait (according to SA)

sounds like they've got you on the list for a 992.2

me too, me too. But I'm waiting for a GT3T.

2 - 2.5 years wait for a 992 S? That sounds crazy!

Agree....but what to do?
Dealer saying they get allocations for 6 C4S a year.
Delays with chips, Brembo, and other suppliers in the food chain.

I appreciate the frustration with the waiting and delay.
That being said, as a 992 owner, the scarcity and absurd used values make me very happy.

Not really frustrated....just wish the wait was not as long. I still have a fun car to drive so not all is lost.
Call me crazy but kinda looking forward to the wait/anticipation....it's like a Christmas thing I guess.
Before I acquired the 996 and as a kid, I always dreamed of Porsches. I waited 55 years to get one, I can now wait a little longer to get a new/my spec 911.
I'm very happy!!!

The problem with a wait THAT long is, it gives one time to change their mind, experience a change in their financial circumstances, die, etc.

Seriously, I don’t think this car is worthy of that much of a wait. And I absolutely LOVE this car.

That seems like a very long wait. Why not call other dealers for a shorter waiting period, unless there is a special reason or benefit to sticking out with current dealer.

Crazy. Try and get on the list for the Lotus Emira, half the price and I bet you'll get it sooner.

Dealers are known to have more than 100% turnover in their staff in far less time than 2 1/2 years. Heck Dealerships change hands and often go into and out of business in less time than that. I'd definitely NOT be giving any car dealership any kind of a deposit that far out in advance, I don't care how nice they are or how trustworthy they've been in the past. Good grief!

If the wait is that long find another dealer and SA. Shop multi states if need be. You should be able to find an allocation for delivery by June. The get them and you just gotta be persistent.

I find it a little strange that a dealer would take a deposit for that far out on a non-GT car. I’d shop around a bit more aggressively.

Um, so you have a deposit for the 992.2 911 C2S?

It’s not like Porsche needs to do a refresh to boost sales. That, combined with the supply chain issues may push out the .2 refresh. The new PCM for the 2022 cars also points to a longer cycle here.

My dealer doesn't take a deposit until they have a allocation. I too would be worried giving a deposit for a car in 2-2.5 years.
