Default After 2 years owning my 992 S . . .

I pulled out the drink holder insert that it had on delivery, and popped in the oddments holder. The oddments holder and rubber mat had been in plastic in the frunk this whole time.

As for the look, its much cleaner, less busy looking. Anyone else? What do you use your’s for?

2 month 992 owner here - still using the drink holder. Have found it holds an iPhone 12 quite nicely. I think we'll keep the car.

Yep I use the drink holder as my 12 pro (regular size) fits perfect.

I got the "smoking package" which included the flip top ashtray insert... It is a good place to rest my forearm while shifting the MT.

I can confirm that the center cup holder will hold a water bottle firmly enough during spirited driving whereas the passenger cup holder does not.

I went with what the OP calls an oddments holder. The cup holder puts such a tight squeeze on any of my cheap water bottles that once in place it's a struggle to remove them. The oddments holder works just fine and it is a cleaner look.

I’m in the ‘it’s a great iPhone holder’ camp here. Hardly ever use the central cupholder for what it’s designed to be, mainly because my car’s MT so it gets in the way. But I do find the passenger side one needs a cup of reasonable size to work OK.

Still miss the old drivers side dash cupholder. Why they ever got rid of that I don’t know even though it did sit above the center console.

A sure sign your car has PDK. The cup holder is useless for manual trans cars.....!

Because any bump would spill the contents of the cup onto the switches below, and replacing those switches was a bit pricey. Sodas or Power Drinks in particular would gum them up quickly.

I heard people say that but in 5 years in my 997 I only spilt coffee once, learnt my lesson and only put closed containers in it after that. Which was fine because we shouldn't drive with open liquid containers in a car anyway.

I find the 992 center cup holder an improvement over the 997 style. I always thought the 997 cup holders were a bit flimsy. This one is rock solid.

it also doubles as a phone holder, which the older style couldn’t.

I use rubber insert and keep my foldable Maui Jims in there. The cupholder is in the glove box to store the keys to my other car. I use the passengeside holder if I absolutely must have a drink in the car and reach over. No drink works in the center console with a MT.
