Yes another thread on rear model designation options...
I'm sure I'm over-analyzing this, but I happen to like the retro look of the script used on the rear model designation. However, I'm not a huge fan of logo's everywhere on my car. As a compromise, my thinking is maybe I do the model designation in the exterior color, so its only noticeable up close. (For reference, this is an aventurine green targa 4s with carrera exclusives, and I'm spec'ing the rear sport design)
Any folks done the exterior color rear model designation?
the other option would be to do the standard silver or change to black. (or just a full delete)
I prefer “911” centered without further designation. And given the targa bar and your wheel choice in silver I would choose the same for the model designation.

Thanks, that was my original thought, but I saw in person and I didnt like this as much with the rear sport design package (it looked a bit small when right above the plate). I preferred the "911" designation with the standard rear design.
I do the delete (my 2022 GTS will have the delete as well). The script has gotten a bit out of hand IMO and I know what model I have. Liked the "Carrera" and "turbo" on earlier cars.

Shown here in exterior color:
I have same color and rear sports facia as you (although I don’t see where your license plate would be? Is this a European model?)
I removed all badging and got a personalized license plate to indicate my model (most people already know it’s a 911, so I used 992..Porsche people will get it, and don;t care if others don’t. Looks very sharp and clean. My SA thought that was a clever idea…although he was surprised it wasn’t already taken. I told him I had several alternatives had my initial plate # had been taken, It hadn’t been.

Not a targa, but this works for me - really like the high gloss black instead of the normal flat black plastic look - but thats me. May put some light tinted film over the red reflectors at some point - maybe
I actually think that the standard designation and script really work well with the car.
When I see the simplified “911” on a modern 911, it’s typically on a base Carrera — which to be clear, is entirely okay.
Following up, I had scripts on each of my previous 7 911's, all but two air cooled so not the expanded scripts of the newer cars. My 2016 S had the "911" and my 2017 had the full blown at the time "Carrera 4 S". With the 992's the script has expanded once again to include 911 which ends up a bit much for my taste. I often though about removing the script from the two 991's but didn't. Now with the GTS I've ordered, there will be no engine lid script (model delete option) but it will have the standard "GTS" on the forward lower corners of the doors (stock matte black). Can't wait!!!

I personally have never liked the long script, it’s a bit much for my taste, esp for the higher trims. I changed mine to 911 and will do the same on my GTS. They are easy to remove if you want to at a later time.

If it's easy to remove, it would seem like a good idea to spec it anyway, and then have it removed (or modified) later if needed.
I’ve de-badged a number of cars I’ve owned over the years. The method I’ve used is to heat up the area with a heat gun and then use some dental floss to get under the medallion . That said, and may depend on the adhesive used by the manufacturer…some require more heat (higher temps) than others….and often concerned I could damage/blister the paint if not careful.
