911 GTS Spec: Race-Tex or Leather🤔
Almost got my spec down but can’t decide on race-Tex or leather interior, haven’t seen the race-Tex finish in the flesh hence was looking for some advice from someone who has…
Also from a value perspective which will be more sought after down the line, I’m thinking race-Tex GTS wise as it’s the norm on them🤔🤷🏻♂️

For my 4GTS I went with Leather for seats and GT wheel and Race-Tex on headliner, sunvisors and the outlets for the seatbelts to keep it uniform. Was worried about higher touch/use areas being Race-Tex long term.

leather; the cooled seats are *amazing*.

The race-tex int is part of what makes the GTS unique and I struggled with this decision as well. However, I decided to stick with full leather on my order, which is how I was leaning all along. While I really like the look of the GTS int package (its deviated stitching or bust for me), my concern is living with race-tex everywhere and more specifically, the seats and door grab handles. I'm not certain I would prefer race-tex over leather in the other areas either and you only get the headliner in race-tex with the other packages. The GTS embossed headrests and the headliner (which you can option anyway) are the biggest selling points for me, but I plan to keep this one for a while and feel that full leather is the safer choice.
It would be great to hear from others who had the GTS int option in previous 911s, Macan, Cayenne, etc. to see what they prefer.

If you opt against race-tex interior, you might as well go for an S. I’m not a fan of high touch surfaces in race-tex, but it is a fundamental element of what makes a GTS.

Not sure I agree. I see much more to the GTS than the Race-Tex interior package. But hey maybe that’s just me - I certainly didn’t order the GTS for the interior package, and as mentioned I switched to leather interior.

While I do agree with the latter part of your statement, I don't agree on opting for the S instead. Aside from the exterior differences, which while subtle, are a big selling point for me, the improved brakes, bespoke suspension, increased HP/torque all add to it. Not to mention when optioned similarly, the price difference is negligible between the two... sorta makes it an easy decision.

It is an interesting question because the 3800 charge for carbon on the gts makes the pack over 8k...if you went standard race tex you are basically paying 8k for stitching.

I'm going with full leather as well. I had Alcantara in my 981 GTS, and wasn't a big fan. Plus you can't get ventilated seats with Race-Tex. I'm a little disappointed that you can't get the GTS logo on the seats with leather though.

I've got a deposit down for a GTS and will be going the leather route. I've got Alcantara in my GT4 and I really prefer the leather, I wish that you could keep the GTS stitching on the headrests...

If you're into the "luxury" factor, go for leather. If you're into "sporty" driving or track, get the race-tex. It holds you in place so much better. Besides, if you want leather on high touch areas such as steering wheel and shifter it's a no cost option. This is the way I went.

I went with the standard race-tex interior, headliner, and sun visors, but opted for the leather GT steering wheel.

Leather can be very hot in summer and very cold in winter hence cooling/heating options. Cloth or race tex tend to be moderate in either climate while keeping you from moving around in the seat while exercising your car. Avoiding cooling/heating options limits cost, weight and complexity. However Porsche allows us to build a car to our liking and budget. So get what you like and enjoy.

Easy choice: Leather
Race-Tex is for those that like Fuzzy Dice and the velour seats from mid 80's Buicks!
