No such thing as boring colored 911’s just some boring people driving them. There are so many colors to choose from plus the ability to custom. I’ve had black, white, several grey tones, guard red, and now GT Silver. Loved them all.
I see a bunch of people in different threads saying things like “silver js njce, white to but they are boring” thats like saying you have to dress like a clown when you go out or else you are boring, what happened to class and style? More and more people are painting their cars with weird colors just to stand out and not “be boring” and its ridiculous. Lizzard green or whatever its called is boring AF because you will get tired of it in a month. Buy cars that will last forever. Classic colors are the best. Sorry 😙
Unless they live your life or pay your bills who cares if they think its "boring " ? I happen to love the classic colors and can speak specifics to praise each. Since my avatar is white I'll just pick that for example . White is -
a) easy to match
b) looks great at night
c) cooler if parked outdoors
d) looks beautiful on a sunny day
e) shows the lines of the car
f) is timeless and will always be on any color choice list
g) on Porsche its free

Well said!
i just put in an order for an S cab in GT Silver, even though others may find it boring”. To me, it is a classic color that looks great. I also have not seen any GT Silver 992s yet where I live.
Silver Metallic 911T (1973) and Dolomite Silver 992 C4S (2020)
My first Porsche was a 1973 911T in Silver Metallic and my latest 992 C4S is in Dolomite Silver. These were always the Porsche colors for me. Elegant and reflects the understated magnificence of the marque. I have also owned a Guards Red 944 but that was in 1985 when Guards Red was all the rage and a 2012 Panamera in White, and both those colors seemed 'right' for those cars. Not mine, but almost exactly the same as my 911T from 1973. My current 992 C4S in Dolomite Silver
I was leaning toward dolomite but my wife and son pointed out that my last 3 cars were silver. I went with aventurine green and have zero regrets. I get a different colored car at different times of the day depending on lighting conditions.
The 911 is such a great design it looks stunning in many colors and Aventurine Green is one of them. Enjoy!
Personally, I like the colors that are likely to go out of style. Seeing a 1970’s car painted in a 1970’s shade green with all of the era-specific mods and **** carpet looks great and brings me back in time. In 30 years, I’m sure a shark blue or lizard green 992 will look just as “retro” and great.
Adding color: GR C2S Cab, Production scheduled for November, Delivery January 2022.
I wish there was a blue between shark and Gentian. For now my 992 targa4s is ordered in white metallic. Does anyone know when Porsche publishes new colors?
I say to each their own period. Porsche's (911s) are meant to be individualized so let 'er rip! Anyone who worries about the color or anything of someone else's car for that matter is bored, a dunce or just nuts.

I think another angle that isn't being considered here is that the luxury-status of Porsche allows for the "wild" colors. You're going to turn heads anyways, so why not do it with a little extra flair and style? You've kind of earned that right because of the quality of the car. Can you really see a Honda Civic in Python Green? Not putting down those cars, we all buy what we can, but it just doesn't look "right" on those cars, not right at all! It's really only the upper-end of cars that can have a little whimsy with the colors.
I’m disappointed I actually took the time to read this thread.
And as the OP has enlightened me now every time I look back at my 911 I always say to myself I wish I had bought white silver/grey or black
Then there is the obvious collectors mentality (I am not) and unique colors always seem to bring higher dollars…hmmm.
But in all my years of owning silvers, white, black or grey cars, no one has ever keyed in on the color just the make and model of the car. But the vibrant colors like the one above has always seemed to garner unwanted positive feedback…not sure why, I just thought it was the best color for THIS specific model 911. The classic colors are great if that’s what you want or go for bold it’s up to you.
