I picked up my Gentian Blue 992 about a week ago, and I cant tell you how many people stop me in parking lots, gas station, side of the road to tell me how much they love the color. The Gentian Blue paint is seriously one of the most beautiful blues... I particularly like it because it goes from Purple, to Electric Blue, to dark blue depending on light, and that is unique. I happen to love all the shades that come through, so it doesnt bother me. I understand if you are comparing to a color that doesnt change this might throw you off... but its exactly what I was looking for in color, and the compliments are fun too!

I love mine! Test drove in the late afternoon to early evening. Beautiful shade, kind of a dark blue. We picked it up the next morning and couldn’t believe the color was so eye popping!
I get a lot of compliments! Also, the build had the exterior color continuing inside the car, definitely cool!
We picked it up as a CPO.

 

Man, I am (sort of) in the same boat. I'll bee ordering my GTS this weekend. However, it will be a while before I have to choose. I love the gray in most everything else. Just sold a Shark Gray Z06, and just loved the look with the carbon flash contrast. However there is something about these 992s with SOME neutral colors. I am on the fence between Dolomite and GB. I started heavy on Dolomite, but find myself leaning more towards GB. Seems to be a fantastic color in person. However I am concerned that the color will be too dark to show the contrast with the carbon bits, roof, mirrors....etc.

 

I went with the "Un-Color" Black. But if I couldn't get Black . . . . I tell ya, that Aventurine Green particularly with the Truffle Brown Interior, Chalk Stitching and every Leather Box Checked . . . . that just says High Class to me.

 

Both are great but I chose Agate. looked more classy to me. Can't go wrong either way.

I love gentian blue. One way to make it pop is to do a black interior with yellow stitching, yellow seatbelts, yellow clock, and yellow tach.

I'm doing this combo on my order, and it also really compliments the yellow ceramic brakes.

Frankly, I haven't seen a single color choice on a 992 that doesn't look good. All these colors look fantastic with a fresh wash/shine.

 

thank you all for your thoughts, comments and ideas. As most stated it is a very personal choice. My build locks in in 6 hours 11 minutes. I have decided to go with the Agate w satin black spyder rims and black interior. Also blacked out trim etc. I think it looks menacing in that build. GB is a very nice but somewhat inconsistent in the "pop" category. If Sapphire Blue was available I would pick that. In any event I am done, unless I go for a GT3 Touring and it starts all over again (which I wont, but just sayin)

I am in the GB camp, but I also don't like silvers/greys/blacks/whites for cars. Its a sea of them everywhere I go and spending 100k on a sports car, I want to not be in the sea. Still I am too sissy to go lizard green or lava orange.

 

I’ve had a Santorin Blue A4 (01), a Midnight Metallic Blue 997 (08) and now a Gentian Blue 992 (21). As well as Black and White SUVs. The Gentian is a beautiful color.
