Default 992 GTS Sport Design Rear

Hello

I currently own a 991.2 GTS and am looking to ordering a 992 GTS. While playing with the configurator, I noticed that there doesn't seem to be a way to specify the rear trim for the (included w/ GTS) sport design package in the exterior color of the car. Anyone else notice this? I'm sure I'm missing something. Please see attached pic.

Thanks!

You cannot remove the rear sport bumper nor change the color of the little wing tabs from black on the GTS.

Thanks. That's a bummer. I was hoping for this look (992 CS):

I agree the non-Sport Design rear looks better, especially in high gloss black which is what I ordered for my chalk C4S. Early on some people criticized the winglets but I think without it the black looks too expansive. If I got a GTS, I’d go with a dark color for this reason.

The bumperettes that you get with the Sport Design rear bumper in the United States aren’t super awesome.

Agreed. But don’t you get them on the GTS also?

funny. when this sd 992 rear came out, people were unhappy with the business of those little flourishes. now we have people unhappy without them.

Does anyone have this part number?

For the winglet and know if they work on all bumpers not just sport design?

Pretty standard. From the C7 Corvette world - "trim" on the outside (Corvette lettering on rear and fish on sides by front fender vents) of a base C7 were plastic chrome; ordering them in black was a $500 option. IF you optioned the Grand Sport model (same drivetrain by wide body bits on it to mimic a Z06) that trim was black and ordering them in chrome was a $500 option. I took the easy way out and removed all of it with fishing line and goo gone.

I was confused by that as well. The bumperettes I could do without, but I do like the shark fin bumper treatment on the Sport Design bumper (…as well as the license plate location; the regular rear bumper makes the 911 look too bulbous for my taste).

It’s a separate piece and seems very easy to remove. You can remove it to paint it, or buy new ones if you want to keep the originals. (Scroll down and see part 12)

I never understood why people say they actually prefer the license plate mounted *higher* like on the SportDesign rear. Why would you want to draw attention to your license plate which you have little or no aesthetic choice over in most states? And IMO the little shark winglets only look good camouflaged in black. Body color shark winglets look like an afterthought/Pep Boys aisle 8!

Like I stated before, it breaks up the bulbous blob rear end, which is even more noticeable the lighter the color. To each their own.

Yes, I think they styled the standard 992 rear to better match with the Cayenne and Macan. I prefer the Sports Design, closer in style with the TTS and GT models….IMHO
