I came out of a 981Gt4. That actually had a better Manual set up much more direct than my 992 manual. The 992 is very good GT4 was better. The clutch operation on the 992 is better than the GT4 . Carl

"best marriage of an electric car and an ICE car"...
I don't know what you're talking about here. When I am attacking a backroad with the revs being kept between 4K RPM and redline, electric car doesn't come to mind. There's no point where I mistake my 911 for an EV. Aside from the Taycan which has a two speed transmission, EVs are a one speed affair.
What I meant by that is that you get the ease of drivability of an electric with the sound and thrill of an internal combustion engine along with the car being much faster than a manual

So was mine and it was "three on the tree". '63 Chevy, 1st to 2nd was just ridiculous, up, a bit forward and up again.

OP's reason's probably that he's 13.

Counterpoint to him, if you just want sudden acceleration in a straight line without the amazing sound an ICE provides then you should just go to Six Flags and ride some roller coasters. It'd be more fun than driving an EV.

This reminds me of the scene in the 40 Year Old Virgin where Steve Carrell’s character describes a woman’s breast as being like bags of sand.

Yep, remember those in our Holden's; that it worked was the kindest thing we can say about it. Better than a '66 Valiant I owned for a short time, that didn't even work properly with some sort of fabric connection in the gear linkage getting out of whack every now and again and needing judicious persuasion with a long handled screwdriver. Shame because the slant six was a great engine compared to the Ford and GM alternatives of the day.

But the best was my first car, a 1965 Fiat 1500 which had a 4-speed column shift. Strangely that worked really well, the floor shift on my '67 Fiat 125 that came after it wasn't much better.

Back to this silly thread, subject has been done to death and is never resolved.

You want a true manual shifting fun car, go buy a rally prepared mk2 Escort. Only 200bhp but light as a feather, handles like a true rally car and new examples (bear in mind it’s a 70s car) are being made, yours for £60k.

https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/3...specialist-mst

That’s a manual I would be prepared to own

I happen to have a Tesla model 3 performance and a 992 Carrera S with a manual transmission. Im not here to plug anything. My 992 is a dream to drive, and as i said.. the manual is glorious. But my model 3 would smoke it in a race anywhere. Model 3 performance cars are smoking GT3’s im not even talking about the plaid. So read my post again. How am i plugging something while saying get the manual?

Countries allready set dates to ban new gasoline cars. Daimler and others have allready anounced they are not developing internal combustion engines, Porsche is pushing the Taycan more than anything, what makes you think there will be more manuals? Get one while you still can is my message. Thats the main reason i got mine

Given the choice between a model 3 or a GT3 you'd have to be a real **** to choose the model 3 though. Probably the same sorts of people who make love to a woman with a sheet between the two of them and eat boiled chicken for dinner every night.

Nobody cares how fast electric cars get. They have no soul.

Yet, on a twisty road, they don’t. You can make the CG as low as you like, but it can’t hide the fact that the current crop of EVs weigh two tons or more.

Further, most EVs are pretty gutless compared to high performance ICE vehicles north of 80-90 MPH on the highway. Yes, that doesn’t appear to be the case for the Plaid or Rimac. It’s also why the Taycan gets a transmission.

0-60 numbers in a straight line are what Tesla touts, because until the arrival of the Plaid, that’s where their cars have performed best.

I feel like I'm talking with one of those people who bragged about how quick their Prius was to 10mph back in the day.

0-60 sprints are for impressing your mate one time and then going back to driving your boring EV.
