A bit more volume and deeper tone would be nice but nothing obnoxious my neighbors would complain about. Still debating Sport Cats vs Cat Back Exhaust. Definitely don’t want both as that’s much louder than I want. Any suggestions?

In all fairness, it’s not really fair to compare an NA 3.8 (which was awesome, loved that motor as PSE exhaust in my ‘13 C2S) to the turbo motors. An awful lot of plumbing and sound filters between those headers and those tailpipes with the turbo cars that the NA cars done have.

You probably already are aware, but tourism at the US National Parks is through the roof. There’s no reservation system, so you wait. I spent time at Zion and Arches in March and then the s.hit hit the fan. I’m hoping to go north but will stay in towns, ie Whitefish, where I can get confirmed res. Even small spillover campsites are reportedly overrun although that’s probably hit or miss.

Actually . . . I know for certain that if your plans include Yosemite or Rocky Mountain National Park you'll need to go on-line and make entrance reservations. Pick a date and a time window then pay $5/car. The window to make these reservations opens 30 days prior to the first day of the month that they make available. So for any August date, the availability opens on July 1st. I'm not sure which if any other National Parks are implementing this system, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if given the post COVID Crowds they expand it to more of the popular parks.

Thanks for the heads up. We're not campers, nor do we tend to visit tourist attractions. We just drive for the sake of driving; not necessarily going anywhere specific and always looking for the most interesting backroads. Over the years my wife has become uncannily adept at finding "the long way around" on interesting secondary roads, and now I just go where I'm told to lol. We use a mix of airbnb and chain hotels with maybe a higher-end resort-style hotel the last night or two, but mostly we're just looking to grab a bite and crash after an average of 8 hours a day on the road.

lol, thanks. I expect we will fastidiously avoid any National parks on the first road trip after COVID.

Yes those parks require them as was the case last year. The others mostly don’t but with or without them it doesn’t necessarily eliminate a multi-hour wait and the question as to whether you want to be there at capacity.

Does anybody know if the 2022 Carerra models come in the USA with OPF? (otto-particle-filter)We have those in our 992 in Europe since day one and those filters detune the muffler sound even further.
I guess that's the reason BMW went on the new M4s with muffler sound from the speaker system.

btw. love my 991.1 with its PSE button.

No Gasoline Particulate Filters here in the US Market . . . . .Yet.
Come 2023 to 2025, increasingly stringent PM Emissions standards will probably see them beginning to show up here.

Yeah, more tree hugger BS to deal with. Hope it won't be too difficult to remove these.

If they're at all like the Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) currently in use here in the US Market, they're no more restrictive (and usually less) on the Exhaust side of the engine than the Air Filter is on the Intake side of the engine. The damage done, is pretty much limited to the sound of the exhaust.

Obviously no where near as good as a 991.1. I miss my 991.1 with PSE, but I also wasn't expecting that at all with a turbo engine.

I think 992 exhaust is good but not great. What I find most impressive about the 992 is intake noise in the cabin with windows closed. That's better than any other modern turbo car I've heard.
