Ah, understand the question now. I don't have any leather options either and the only reason I looked into what is and what is not real leather on the standard car is because the left backrest bolster on the drivers seat started to get a shiny finish on it quickly after I took delivery, and I wanted to know how to stop it doing what my old 997 did and wear prematurely.Originally Posted by 4carl
I did a performance build coming out of a GT four. Manual transmission sport suspension sport seats sport steering wheel. The only thing I did to the interior was bright aluminum trim to brighten it up. The reason why I’m asking is I have a Gt3 touring allotment and on the configurator they’ve changed the interior options. I was just wondering what to do next time around car should be here next spring. I think On a manual transmission it’s less critical on resale because there’s so few of them available. Then again I could be wrong I usually am. My history is buying high and selling low . Appreciate all the opinions. Carl
The learning I can offer in your case is be very clear on what is provided on the specific model being ordered. Maybe all GT3's have the same base spec but as per my previous post that's not the case in the non-GT cars. Then Porsche actually offer different options depending on the model, for example a C2 has a partial leather option available that the S models don't. Like you I find the configurator a good starting point but is not 100% reliable.
And well done getting a GT3 Touring allocation, nice!
I’ve had many current 911’s with two at the moment; a 992 standard interior and a 2015 turbo s loaded with leather and carbon fiber. My 992 standard black interior looks fine to me. My previous 2018 GT3 also had standard interior. In both cases where I noticed the lack of full leather was on the dash as that’s the piece I looked at the entire time I was in the car.
It’s all very personal with no right or wrong but I will say Porsche has done a great job of making the standard interior look much better than in the past.

I generally don’t do that. The standard wheels are usually fine for me although I have paid the $600 for metallic paint but never a special color. Originally Posted by 991.1 Guy
