Good question. The standard aerokit doesn't come with side skirts and paint match on some of the different pieces. I much prefer the paint match on the parts and HG application. Side skirts are $1300 add-on so essentially, you are paying another $500 for the extra HG and color match and looks much cleaner. I get PPF on my cars so the paint's protected. If you don't want the side skirts and don't care of the HG / paint match look, you can save some $.

The AeroKit DOES come with paint match. The visualizer just doesnt render correctly. Ditch the high gloss black and just add the side skirts.

Actually don't think that's accurate. From what I was told by the dealers, as I had actually asked them about this, was that in the standard kit, the spoiler lip of the front fascia is not painted and same goes for the rear fascia as well in which the lower portion is also not painted and has the plastic look. Checkout the video link below and go to 6:53 of the video and you can see the rear view. To me, the front actually does look painted so not 100% sure on that but you can definitely see the non-painted portion on the rear. Also, the standard aero definitely doesn't include the side skirts, which is a look that I prefer. If you get standard kit, you need to dish out extra $1300 for side skirts so pricing becomes almost the same but for an extra $500, you get the HG look. If side skirts aren't important to you and the back non-painted look works for you, I would definitely go with standard and save that $2k.

There are a bunch of AeroKitted cars on this site and on YouTube. The AeroKit comes body colored (..e.g the rear wing and front lip, and the rear wings on the Sport Design rear bumper). If you opt for the Sport Design side skirts, those will come painted as well. If you decide against the Sport Design side skirts, you get black side skirts. All you need to do is search AeroKit on this forum and you will see.
I spoke to the GM at my dealer as you peaked my curiosity and he confirmed with his finance manager as well who does the builds / orders for their dealer cars that for the standard kit, the main portion of back facia is NOT painted. There might some small portions of it on the side of the back panel that is painted but the main section is not painted. So you can get the standard aero and order side skirts (painted) for $1290 on top of the $6910, which gets you to almost the same spot as the HG Aero. I'm going to look into a bit further with other dealers as well and I'll loop back here if I find anything different but from the looks and discussions, that's how the car is delivered if you don't do the HG Aerokit.

I already specified that I was talking about the AeroKit, not the standard aero. Your original post mentioned AeroKit and the 992 pictured is equipped with the AeroKit. When people refer to the AeroKit, they are referring to the added front lip, wing, etc .and that DOES come body colored. Nobody said the back came painted. Maybe you are confusing yourself. Ill reiterate ..the AeroKit has a body colored front lip, fixed rear wing and fins on the Sport Design bumper. If you opt for the Sport Design side skirts those will come body colored too. IF you go gloss black, yes, everything comes gloss black including the portions that would normally be matte black.

haha. No, not confused. I was just referring to your comment about the Aerokit having the body paint matched but there is a clear distinction between the Aerokit and HG Aerokit. In the build configurator, there are 2 options...Aerokit or Aerokit in HG Black. If you get the Aerokit, the rear is redesigned and the fascia is not painted. If you get the HG Aerokit, the redesigned fascia includes the HG Black. All good here. Thanks again!
1) if I remember correctly, it was like a $200 or $300 option and the wifey likes to have that little extra response dynamic in the steering based on our previous cars.
2) Have the Burmester in another make before and absolutely loved it. Hoping similar experience here although have not heard it directly in 992. Agree the price is steep and definitely made me think twice but hoping the cost / benefit makes sense in the long run. Many will say not necessary but you drive the car so get what you want.
1. It is my understanding that Power Steering Plus lowers the steering effort at parking speeds. I have a C4S with RAS and I can tell you that without Power Steering Plus, the steering is overboosted at lower speeds - or at least it feels that way to me. But I have NOT driven a car with it.
2. I listened to the Bose and decided that $3,800 additional (or whatever it was) was worth it provided it was any better. A visit to the dealer a few weeks later and they had a Turbo S with the Burmester - a short listen to that and I realized I made the right choice. As I have said, anyone who says "Bose is good enough for me" is lucky. Cause man, to me, it was terrible.
Nice except reconsider the Sport Chrono Stopwatch Dial in White. It continually puts a glare on the windshield and and is very distracting. It makes the clock almost unreadable. Of course you have a clock on the PCM but unless you are going to be doing a lot of timing don't get it.
