Default New design on PDK shifter??

I heard Porsche is introducing a redesigned PDK shifter soon. Has anyone else heard the same and have any additional info/pics?

Would like to find out about this myself. Know what year the rumors are referring to or may not be until facelift.

Doubtful for 992.1

Why bother? Is it all those unsold 992s sitting on lots because of the PDK shifter?

There is already a $750 option for an aluminum trimmed one on the current car.

You're probably talking about the PDK shifter on the 992 GT3. Not sure that will make its way to the non-GT cars.

They won’t make any dramatic change to the shifter, because they would have to re-crash test the car. That little nubbin isn’t going to do you any harm in an accident. However, a large shifter can be a problem. There’s a reason why there’s so little metal in the cabin of a modern car. It saves weight and makes for fewer things that can kill you.

This is also why toggle switches have disappeared, ***** are flush, and so many things have moved to touch screens and push buttons.

Yep and it’s designed that way because it uses a mechanical cable to connect to the transmission whereas the 8 speed nubbin is totally digital.

Yeah...smashing someone's face against the dashboard isn't the thrill it used to be. Might as well hit 'em with a pillow.
