Default Help on deciding...

I have a yellow 991.2 carrera T that I'm interested of trading in for a 992. I like the wide body styling of the newer car .

I really like the 992 S but because of the limited availability in the market..there is a nice black 992 C4 available. Is the C4 worth trading a T for or really should look for a S?... or keep the T?

my wife feels like I'm trading down for a C4 from the T

I would keep the Carrera T unless you can find a 992S that you like. Not worth trading the Carrera T for any other 991 other than GT3 and touring of course.

Would be helpful to know why you want another 991 in C4 trim when you are actually interested in a RWD 992 carrera S. That’s some really odd cross shopping IMO. If you don’t need AWD, your wife is correct that you are downgrading from a 991.2 T to a 991.2 C4.

Why do you want the 992 S? Is it for the newer looks and tech? Is it for more speed/power? If so, the 991 C4 won’t give you either.

The 992 is a much improved car over the 991. TBH, any of them are a step up from the T.

That being said, I think that it is worth waiting for the one that you want instead of taking the one that you can find. If you buy one now, you’ll be paying a premium. Pay that premium for the one that you actually want.

This is primarily a marital relationship question. If your wife thinks you'd be trading down wait for an S.

Keep the T, wait for a 992 S. Going into a 991.2 C4 is a sideways move at best.

Why does everyone think the OP is considering trading his T for another 991? He said he’s looking at a 992 C4.

+1

That said, I still say, wait for the 992S. Unless you really need the AWD, but doesn't sound like it.

LOL. Bad reading comprehension on my part. His post makes more sense now.

Why do you think everyone thought that when everyone didn’t?

OP’s original post said he was looking at getting out of his T and into a 991.2 C4...not a 992 C4.

Aha! So there's the answer to my question. I caught the post after the edit and thought that either I missed something or there were a bunch of Rennlisters having senior moments. To answer the OP's question, I'd wait for the S. The main reason is I'd have a hard time going from a bright color like yellow to black. That and the fact that only the S has a manual gearbox. Only 125 days until mine arrives.

PS. At 66 years old, I have senior moments way too often.

992 C4 is a better car than the 991.2 Carrera T but not by much. Whether you want to go from a Carrera T to a Carrera 4 am not sure given the difference between the two. Owners call!
