Worse in this case because there's a space between the bag and the rear of the seat - as in, it's in motion when it collides with the seat.

But don't believe me, spend a few minutes on the interweb researching car crashes and loose items. Why does Porsche still fit folding back seats? I really can't say.
I guess this is true, but thats living life with a bunch of what if's. Millions of people go to the grocery store or Sams Club every year and load up their Ford Focus or similar cars with cases of beer/water, heavy canned goods, etc.in the hatch/back seats. I bet there is less than 1% of those people that tie that stuff down. Yes it could happen, but Im not going to worry about it.

The seat backs will in fact stop a set of clubs. There is a lot of surface area which the clubs will hit and spread the force.

Your choice. Just because someone else does something stupid doesn't mean you have to.

What are we even talking about? If you are that much of a hypochondriac buy a Volvo. I didn’t realize Porsche owners were this soft.

LMAO - I’ve been called stupid for many things in my life, but never for throwing my clubs in the back seat to go play a round of golf.

I just got a 992 4s. I had my car wash buckets in the front trunk.

I thought it was safe to put a 12 pack of La Croix carbonated water cans on the rear shelf for a 2 mile drive home. I decided to drive slow. Just with normal driving, the 12 pack hit the back of my seat so hard that if that were my head I would be dead. I’m never putting anything back there again.

I do wish Porsche had cargo net hooks already installed and offered an accessory net that you could buy.

Interesting. I guess I am not putting much of anything back there

And still, my concern would be putting the club bag in and out of the car.
I can and do load the Clicgear in the frunk. My golf bag goes onto the passenger seat.

I put my cart bag in the back seat of my coupe all the time - no drama at all. I do use the seat belt to keep it in place but it has never moved much.

I had a spare WeatherTech Liner, so I custom cut one myself. For my golf bag, it was easier to just load onto the passenger seat though.

I use a Lloyd mat, fits perfectly over the folded seats. Only time I use back shelf is when I have other luggage holding the stuff in place.

I have always been an innovator. If you wrap the seatbelt around the seat back just so, you have a luggage net that works well for groceries.

It’s pretty common in car accidents for an unsecured rear seat passenger to end up in the front seat, or even outside through the windshield. The forces in play when a car suddenly stops moving are mighty impressive. And that’s assuming there are no erratic motions, or the car doesn’t roll.

No way I’d put something like golf bags behind me without having some means to secure them. It’s 100% safe. Until it’s not. And then it’s really not safe.

too bad there isn’t an OEM way to secure things back there, but I suspect the liability for Porsche was too high. They even took the stops out, as them being there would imply a storage purpose for that space.
