Default 992 - 2021

Tried to get our new 992 into neutral to move by pushing an inch or so. With our 991 cars, you could turn on the key to the accessory position and move the PDK lever into neutral. Can’t seem to make that work with the 992. Any help out there - and by the way, the dealer is stumped too which makes no sense. Concerned if the car has to be towed and it won’t start. Dragging it up on a flatbed without the car in neutral sure seems like it would damage expensive parts.

Thanks for the comment. My forward thinking concern is that if I’m stuck on the road for whatever reason and the car won’t start, how do you get it in neutral to allow it to be pulled onto a hauler and allow the wheels to turn - which to my un-mechanic mind says the car has to be in neutral which it won’t without the engine running. Catch 22 kinda.

I see what you mean. I guess someone needs to check theirs to see if it happens to be the same result.

From all the AWD ones I've owned, it's a drag job, the diffs don't disengage which is why you can't tow them

Thanks - I just want to roll it onto a flatbed without dragging the tires. I'm chasing this down with PCNA in Atlanta. They said turn the accessory key on, put your foot on the brake and move the shift lever to neutral. That didn't work - but I tested it with the rep on the phone with me. I suggested they have a lot of 992's at the Experience Center and one of their techs should be able to test it too. Waiting to hear back.

Well if there's a way to disengage the transfer cases I'd really like to know so please keep us posted.
