The news says that we will be hit by a Asteroid that will destroy the earth on May 16th , 2023 !
So,
I upped the power and performance and added a high end after market stereo to my 2020 992.
Any body else living now ?

There literally would be no difference in my driving and use of my 911. The car is meant to be driven and that's why I bought it.

So I actually placed an order for what's my first Porsche about 3 weeks ago. I don't take my cars to the track, and I actually hold on to them for a very long time so I don't care about depreciation but rather about maintenance cost.

So I decided on a C2S because I don't need AWD and I enjoy the RWD feel. I have a proper 4WD vehicle for offroading.
I let go of PDCC, RAS, FAL, PASM, and Sports Chrono package. I felt these all won't make much difference when driving in a city or even on windy mountain roads. It's not like I'll be timing my laps or racing like a mad man, I'll be enjoying the performance of the car which I think as a 2021 Porsche will be exceptional. I've driven older performance cars and I doubt the 992 won't be superior in every aspect.
I also didn't go for the Turbo S because I felt it's overkill for the lifestyle I'm living. I'm not taking my cars to the track, and the C2S is plenty fast.

I'm not too worried about resale.

Warranty is another story. What would I do if I never had to worry about my warranty?

Coilovers and a tune.

I once bought an Aston Martin. I then sold said Aston Martin.

Any car I buy subsequently will have comparatively tremendous resale value, so I no longer worry about it.

I never consider resale value when I purchase a car.
My last fun car was a BMW e46 M3 Cab. It never failed to put a smile on my face. Besides heated seats, I told the sales rep that I didn’t want any option that didn’t make it faster.

I configured my C2S Cab as my way to put a smile on my face while I enjoyed the drive. I don’t plan to track it. I’m retired, it will probably be my last petrol vehicle.

My configuration PMHFA3R3

For better or worse, never been focused on resale value. I've become progressively more concerned and annoyed with sufficiency of warranty and frequency of repair. Gotta love the Land Cruiser.

Zero concern with resale. I buy the car I want that I can afford the initial purchase of.
My theory is that if you have trouble affording the "pre-sale" then you'll have trouble affording the re-sale.

Now best cost of ownership I ever had was a 2005 VW Phaeton purchased in 2008 just after crash for $26K with 14K miles on it. Sticker was $78K and it still had a warranty.
Drove it everywhere. Was a freakin tank, Gave it away for $12K with 80K miles on it 6 yrs later.

If I were less concerned about resale, I would put on more miles, drive longer and change options spec very slightly. None of this would be drastically different than what I do now.
