Default No Media Menu in Instrument Cluster

One of my biggest complaints about the new infotainment system is that Porsche no longer has a media menu in the instrument cluster despite two configurable screens. When using CarPlay (Waze) changing media and knowing what you are selecting (source/station/track/etc) requires exiting Waze screen. I can configure a line in the customization view of the info screen on the right of the tac, but that’s it. Any way to configure the other 40% of the empty CarPlay screen?

You want to edit the widget. You can do this from the Home Screen. The widget can be displayed by tapping on the right side of the PCM display.

Yep, I just did this last week and makes a world of difference when using car play. Previously it was displaying pcm nav and phone boxes which are useless in CarPlay. Go to the Home Screen and it is one of the small drop down menus on at the top of the screen. One says customize home page and one says customize widget. Widget is the one that shows up to the right of the screen while in car play.

Can you show me a picture of what your screen looks like?

since you are already in CarPlay mode - the two buttons on the upper right are redundant. you can also swipe down on the right widget until you come to the Media only widget which shows the SiriusXM channel/artwork in 1/3 mode.

Instead of the two upper info widgets you've chosen, I picked auto stop/start and PCM off.
But what's that lower info widget you've picked?
I recall trying to pick a "media" related info widget and when on the car play view it also displayed something like "Apple CarPlay is active". Maybe I had Amazon Music running at the time... I'll go try again.

I took the pic right after I configured the info widget. I changed those two tiles as they are redundant. One of them is info (date, time, altitude) and the other is the Bose tile to adjust audio settings. The lower tile is media for Sirius/XM.
