PCM Startup
Is anyone experiencing a good 45secs to 90secs delay for the PCM screen to be available functionally on ignition? I am, and it’s replete with spinning circles. The real annoyance is homelink is also unavailable so I can’t close my garage door until the screen initializes and the action is available. It seems to happen when the car is turned off for >1 hour.
If anyone else has faced it and has successfully solved it, I would love your tips.

Yes, normal. It starts booting once you open either door. So, if you sequence things right, you will have a shorter wait.

I see, thank you. Is that true without the ignition turned on?
This is so annoying. I miss the old PCM and the homelink buttons

I’ve noticed unlocking the car with the remote, even if not locked, also speeds the process. Waiting in my driveway at noisy high idle for the PCM to boot so I can close the door is definitely one of the little things that matter to my neighbors.

Mine takes about 30 seconds to boot. I hit the "unlock" button from about 50 feet away, take my sweet time walking to the car, climb in, tuck my face mask in a cubby, belt up, check mirrors and it's generally ready to go. If it's not, I swear at it a couple of times and it seems to respond within a few seconds.

Yep. 30 sec for me. Total PITA. I'm hoping the 2022 is better.

I already learned to hate those spinning circles in my Panamera. It's a pathetic usability/design failure. I've chosen to refuse to put up with it. When the 992 arrived I just clipped a garage door clicker on the visor and didn't even bother with homelink. Now I can just enjoy the car instead of being mad at it.

Hit unlock as soon as you pick up the key fob and by the time you get in, buckle up, it should be ready within a few seconds. The range of the remote is is pretty far.

I leave my remote in the car when in my garage. I have to remember to carry it in

It is normal... and absolutely awful. The 992 is an incredible revision of the 911 but the tech is trash; equivalent to most European cars sans BMW right now. I purchased a new 2021 Macan S for my wife in December and the wait is well over a minute until everything clicks on for the PCM.
When my 911 was in service recently the dealership lent me a Taycan for an afternoon. The car was incredible but the tech was about the same... aggravating. Tesla as a company drives me nuts but their software atleast boots up within 5 seconds.
