Default How many C4S Manual Coupes out there?

My last water-cooled car (997) was a C2S Cab and now I want to change things up for my 992 which goes into production in June. I’m spec’ing a 4S Coupe in Manual. Yes I know that I risk some loss in steering feel and that the 4S might be a waste living in the Bay Area, but what the heck, I want to try something different.

How do all of you C4S manual coupe owners like your cars? I want to hear about it!

I have had my 992 C4S Manual Coupe for just over a year now - one of the first delivered in the US. Love it. All my 911s have been manual, and this is probably the best iteration of it yet, crisp, short throw, precise and still very mechanical and engaging. The rev matching is excellent, the ability to re-start the car (in case of a stall) with just pushing in the clutch is awesome (when teaching others to drive it) - and occasionally me..:-) I use mine for a DD and think it is awesome!

I’m ordering a Targa 4S in manual and can’t wait! I have a manual on my 2016 Boxster Spyder. Manual for me !

Unlike the 991, you lose practically nothing in steering feel and feedback going from a 2 to a 4 in the 992 generation.

Can you comment on the distance btw armrest and shifter? Can you rest your elbow on the armrest and comfortably row through the gears? Or do you just shift with nothing under your elbow? Thanks!

Daily driver in a rotten climate go with the 4, otherwise C2S, raw and simple. Nothing like a rear wheel drive manual sports car.

I know the Bay Area well, went to college there. Why do you want 4 versus 2 wheel drive? The car won't be any faster unless you plan to push it in the rain, and you add about 125lbs to the car.

My somewhat irrational reasons:
- Only had RWD 911s and want to experience something different.
- I liked the slightly heftier steering feel of the 4S as compared to the 2S.
- I’m less motivated by all out speed, and more into engagement and feel. I like cars that feel planted. I think the 4S will be a nice safety feature.

I'm in the Bay Area as well with my C2S going in to production in June as well. I didn't see the need for the 4 given our weather but to each his own. Expecting my car in June. Congrats.

You just shift with nothing under you elbow, the arm rest is farther back, so no resting on the arm rest.

Even in Chicago winters, putting on winter tires and wheels -1" diameter, works about as well as AWD. A 992 2S just sits too low for unplowed streets but otherwise feels secure.
