Default Joyrides at night

Anyone take their car for a joyride at night?

Kids are asleep. Less traffic

I’ve done it twice. I recommend it

LOL!!
How are the LED headlights? Assuming fantastic?
My current daily driver is a 2018 Audi S3 and the standard LED headlights are great.

I had the opportunity to cover 100 miles of winding very rural two lane one night with high confidence of it not being policed. Porsche head lights were amazing under these conditions.

Yup, especially since this covid world can get so damn boring for me and the wife (no kids yet) that we sometimes just go on that late night joyride. The car is just so pleasurable to drive.

You must be young. Old eyes don't see well at night, but we do great at sunrise runs.

I have called these outings "Night Missions" for decades.
During the pandemic, the roads got very clear, especially in states that closed the bars early.
As someone else noted, yes, depending upon the time of year, you do need to watch out for deer.

I guess I’m learning that I am relatively young for the demographic here. I’m 44.

I decided that I want to buy a sports car NOW, instead of when I’m old and senile and my bones and joints ache all day (and my dentures keep rattling!) from the stiff suspension

Deer are an issue for me, however probably not as bad as in other more remote places.

We also have a coyote issue around these parts

Just curious, how was it that you were of “high confidence” of no police? I’d like to have those same indicators

I’d love to night joyride but the general rule around here at night is 35mph max, except on freeways, as the deer population is enormous. As I drive by the many surrounding meadows and fields, illuminated eyes by the side of the road are everywhere.

Ditto. Here in Northern VA the deer are just long legged rats..... everywhere. Really a major nuisance. And yeah, hate to say it but I recently completed by 60th tour around the sun and the eyesight is probably less sharp at night.

I don't know about that. Too many deer just have a suicide complex and don't look both ways before they come charging out of the woods and across the road. You'll get a good look at them with your IR as they smash into you. I'm not a fan of driving between dusk and dawn in deer country.

I'm near you age and cannot see **** at night anymore. Probably from too much desert sun exposure and/or IEDs.
