Default Dealer invoice mistake

Wondering what everyone’s thought is on this.

Car purchased 8-9 months ago. It just came to my attention that a mistake was made on the invoice by the dealership that actually went to my benefit. I think in the excitement of picking up a new vehicle, somehow both SA and myself have overlooked this. How often does that happen right ? Lol

So obviously the right thing to do is to make it right.

Although, there’s mischievous side of me that wouldn’t mind the “additional discount”

Out of my curiosity, what’s my position here ? What can the dealer do when all is signed?

thanks all

I think 6-8 months is too long to come back and say oops. Regardless of what is was for. The contract is done you can’t go back now and say I want a better interest rate. What’s done is done. So.... tell us more!

I was curious about your comment, so I called my dealer.
They told me that if it were to occur, that they would much appreciate their client returning to correct the issue.

They can change it with written authorization from both parties. No matter what was discussed, the only binding agreement is the signed purchase agreement. There should be a clause on your paperwork that says HOW THIS CONTRACT CAN BE CHANGED that explains the details.

I think the no cooling off period should go both ways.

I find it interesting that you took it that far to call your dealer.

If they overcharged you would they call you to tell you or wait for you to complain? I suggest doing the same

CODB. At the end of the day it is a blip on the dealer's financials. You are overestimating the relevance of this error to them.

I was overcharged for something in the purchase process by few dollars and didn't even notice until the dealer sent me a check and a note. As it turns out, they had charged me for a new license plate when we actually transferred an existing plate. It was a small amount that I would have never noticed, but I appreciated the ethics of the dealer in cutting the check. Bonus points for Warrington Porsche.

If I discovered that the dealer was shortchanged, I would bring it to their attention. Doing so, gives them the option of deciding whether or not to gift the difference. It's the right thing to do.

And suddenly... all Porsche dealers were auditing their 992 contracts from 8-9 months ago.

Are you actually going to tell us what the amount or what the issue was with the invoice?
