My only contribution here is that, perhaps surprisingly, a 992 C2S (with SPASM) still feels a little soft when pushed on the track. I say this from 1 excursion to PECLA, admittedly a tight wee track, so more 'investigation' is needed .

It's supposed to be a "little soft" on track.
The 992 911 is not track car. It's a sports car that can be driven on the track.

PECLA track is way too small... Not to mention - instructors not allowing anyone to give it the ‘full beans’. Especially right now implementing lead-follow.
Just curious, how exactly do you take a sweeper at speed?...
dont lift off the throttle to keep the rear planted. and definitely don't even go near the brake lol. do one smooth motion with the steering to turn and straigthen. it is something to practice at the track with runoff area so you can understand the amount of speed you can carry and steering turn to do. I would probalby never do a fast sweep on a city street atleast not at track speeds cos you need to use both lanes at limit grip levels change based on elevation, camber, tire temp etc. basically i need to know the turn really really well.
Yeah, but they learn pretty quickly that while the cars are great off of the line, highway speed acceleration (especially above 70-80MPH) of Tesla cars is nothing to write home about. There is a reason that they tout 0-60 speeds. 😜
uhm, the Mrs drives a P100D S and although I haven’t taken it to a track to confirm; I’d guess the TSLA holds an ever so slight lead until maybe 135-145mph. Instantaneous torque ... a lot of it.
Having said that it’s a fatty and any kind of road course will sort that quickly.
I hope your *** gets thrown in jail, you and the i8 driver. Don't pull that crap on roads I drive with my son and wife. Or that anyone drives on with their family. Take it to the track. You can clearly afford a day at Summit Point. It's not that far.

Agreed, but it's soft in a way my old 997 never was. That car was equally at home on the track as in freeway commutes.

Agreed, it's tight. I've been there 3 times now, call me a sucker but it's a great way to play with someone else's cars although this last time was in my own car.

seems to be instructor dependent... I had a day at PECLA where they let us go every bit as hard as we were comfortable on that little track.... not that you can push it too hard because of the track itself but they definitely didn't hold us back. Been twice and it was the mid-engine vs rear engine experience where they let us go harder. What I wish they would do is time laps. On that track I may have been faster in the Cayman GTS vs the 911 but hard to know.

Agreed. My sister’s best friend and their 5 old son were hit in a tragic accident involving two dumb asses street racing. One of the drivers ran a red light and T-boned passenger side. The 5 year old died on the scene. I was there with my sister when we explained to my nephew what happened to his friend. I watched him come to grips with the finality of death for the first time. It was truly the most heart wrenching thing I’ve ever seen and my eyes tear up now writing this.

That's my experience too. I find the first few minutes they assess your level of skill and if they're OK with that then they just let you go for it.

Ha! I didn't endanger your wife and child Phobus512, there were no other cars in the sector (well, there were some behind us). I know Summit Point pretty well, been an Instructor there since 1996. What's your favorite track there? Main course, Shenandoah, or Jefferson?
Oh, and I don't pay to go to Summit Point, they pay me to Instruct - though I'll admit the pay is kind of crappy.
